Why so many people think, that pokedex entries are either written by kids or non-canon?

Many pokemon youtubers, people from reddit and from 4chan believe, that pokedex entries should not be taken seriously because they are

written by kids

or

non-canon

Why are they like this? Is there any way to convince them, that most pokedex entries are legit?

Nope it's a combination of confirmation bias and the Mandela effect. It's already been shown multiple times in the games and anime to not be true but stubbornness is hard to get past.

Unless the Pokédex entry explicitly contradicts the established lore, feats and scaling (Such as Kadabra being a human boy) it's vaild just like how we should treat any canon source of information in any verse.

Essentially it's just another long running franchise that inevitably suffers from inconsistencies and ofc some people will take those inconsistencies, PiS, outliers, etc into head-canon territory so it makes "sense" in their PoV.

Also trying to argue with folks on 4chan is a hilarious waste of time.
