Who exactly are the Akatsuki?

I was wondering, when people make vs the akatsuki matches without specifying who is in their team, who should i assume is there? just the main members or everyone that has something to do with them?

Main members:

Pein, Konan, Hidan, Kakazu, Deidara, Sasori, Itachi, Kisame, Zetsu, Tobi

Others:

Obito/Juubito, Orochimaru, Sasuke, Juugo, Suigetsu, Karin, Madara, Nagato, Madara

Personally whenever people bring up the Akatsuki, i ALWAYS think up of it;s main members.

oh i know that XD i count Tobi as him with the orange mask as in him with just Sharingan and Obito as him with the gray mask and rinnegan. ples when he becomes obito the akatsuki isn't really a thing anymore.

He isn't he wasn't even there when Akatsuki was formed.

So you're saying in a match featuring the akatsuki both of them should be counted?

Only one should be counted. Pain are representing Nagato, they're nothing more than puppets. Nagato is part of the normal akatsuki

Just as most of us, I count only the ones who were actually involved in the group during early/mid shippuden.. But the rest SHOULD count in some way.

Madara made the idea of the Akatsuki and Sasuke refused to be associated with them officially. Also Orochimaru was in the Akatsuki for a while as well.
