What should I choose between a Choice for Pixel Height, & where a Beam of Light (Or we've yet to confirm first.) Starts?

CAUTION: Once both decisions are made, I'll proceed to start development...

After doing some kind of Pixel Height measuring two characters: Semnia (Wonderful World), whose Canon Height is 143cm & Aiwhen (Wonderful World) at 148cm, I decided to measure their px height. Semnia ended up w/ 269px, but Aiwhen was even more complex; having more than just an upward standing; unlike the former, resulting in a choice between 286px or 287px. A difference of just 5cm, but what to convert it to: 17px, or 18px? I'd like some input on this, please.

Also, after all that, I still needed to make a choice regarding where this beam of light-thing starts & ends by the time Aiwhen (Wonderful World) reacts. I hope this isn't just reaction speed; but Speed in general; I mean if this is legit how I see things, it would warrant a BIG upgrade. But should the beam use:

Since we're also noting a choice for 17px or 18px in addition, I do have an answer of my own for both; I just wanted to know what the most Calc-Friendly choices would be. I'll supply an image for both Semnia & Aiwhen's respective Heights if need be; but Aiwhen's result is pretty rough. Bear with me on that please.

So, what are your thoughts on what to answer for these 2 Dilemma I'm having for awhile now? I'll be waiting until then...

Well, I decided on 18px for choice one. That now leaves us with the choice below. Anybody have an opinion on WHERE the Lightbeam should start? Do you think it's realistic enough to start it from the tip it came from, or the Star-like mass at its center?

I'm still waiting. 18px is confirmed though...
