Video Games Hot Takes

I was about to joke that my hot take is that Mario 3D All Stars was actually perfect, but I couldn't bring myself to say that even ironically. Still ain't over them excluding galaxy 2 and only selling the game for a year like what was the thought process behind that.

@Dust_Collector Nintendo's just run by a bunch of morons, simple as that. They closed down both the Wii-U and 3DS eshop and refuses to port any of those eshop games into the switch online store despite having a large userbase in the console because they don't understand what being pro-consumer is, and don't even get me started on the fan projects, e-sports side and emulation since that's a whole nother can of worms.

But their stance on emulation is good actually, do you know how much money they lose when lil' timmy emulates Warios Dingus Dongus Palzooza released exclusively in western spain in 1993? Why, it's a miracle they haven't gone bankrupt.

And this? This is why emulation is superior to any of Nintendo's rereleases.
I mean seriously, if being a pirate means I can have a better experience then any of Nintendo's subpar retro catalog then I'll gladly sail the seven seas

Libraries from steam?

what other libraries do you have?
Steam, Playstation, and Nintendo libraries all together since I've had my accounts for years and have been gaming hardcore since pre-school on like ps2 and gamecube and shit naturally by this point I have thousands of games

This is my sad 2022 report for my busy yesr last year what with work and all

Blame the piracy
There's always Denuvo for them to add on top of the unoptimized mess but that hasn't stopped them from selling well and flopping (At least in Squeenix's case, SEGA has been punching well above their weight class with their stellar Yakoozie ports, can't say the same about Atlus but Atlus have always been dicks).

Companies I would pirate to hell and back with no remorse because they're just terrible corpos both morally, ethically, and business-wise:

1. TAKE-TWO/2K GAMES and ROCKSTAR (Absolutely no care or love for the modding community that has kept their video games alive well into 2023, crunches their offices into oblivion)

2. UBISHIT (DEPENDS, most of their games these days are utter *****, not even worth torrenting, plus their massive history of sexual abuse and harassment, racism, crunch work, tone-deaf executive orders, massive pay disparity, blatant misogyny, etc.)

3. EA GAMES (SINGLE PLAYER STUFF ONLY, I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM FOR BUTCHERING NEED FOR SPEED, they have ruined everything with lootboxes and microtransactions),

4. KONAMI (SELF-EXPLANATORY),

5. SQUARE ENIX (Hopefully they crash and burn and go bankrupt),

6. BETHESDA,

7. ACTIBLIZZ (ONLY IF THEY MAKE A GOOD SINGLE PLAYER GAME),

8. CD Projekt (They fell, were caught lacking),

9. Crytek (Tax evasion),

10. DEEP SILVER (Just as bad as Ubi, if not worse),

11. WB GAMES (They have their heads up their ass with monetization),

12. NINTENDO (Unconditional hate against them and their business practices)

Respect grew 100x reading this, holy based you are my good man

@KLOL506 the fact that they are people praising CD Projekt Red for "fixing" Cyberpunk 2077 after its disasterous launch and lying about multiple features which weren't in the game definitively proves that people deserve shit products if they'll allow companies to get away with this stuff.

I'll link this amazing video in case people want to know how freaking bad this game was at the start

Yeah but it's not nearly the dev's vault entirely and praise is certainly due for how far its came since launch. There were a ton of factors outside of dev control that ****** this game over so it actually getting a fair shot should be praised even if it unfortunately couldn't reach what it was supposed to be

This vid is also 2 years old when not much was known about the behind the scenes so there's that to consider but definitely read or watch up on it to get the full scope of what was going on in development

Don't bother with those entrapment arguments, if someone (knowingly) pays full price for a broken product and then tries to defend it instead of just accepting the L, they deserve to be clowned on. Yet more reason why modern gaming is a myth and it's just a lazy excuse to allow incomplete games, immoral/inhumane business practices, cheap token points and "surprise mechanics" to be the "norm" in the industry (what a joke).

Don't worry we'll be expected paid full price (plus pre-order bonuses for otherwise "locked" content in game) for games that we don't physically own, our access to them can be restricted without a moment's notice and they'll be filled with spyware. Oh wait that's already happening...
