If you're in futuristic part of Age of Terra (between late M2 and M15), life is better than IRL - and if if you're in Dark Age Of Technology (M15-M25), you're in ultra-advanced utopia. Bad news is that it's a race against the clock of doom, as after multiple millenia everything will blow up to hell.
Best course of actions would be earning enough money to buy augmentations to become wildly superintelligent/transapient and biologically immortal, and get a Complete STC with all data stored locally and on multiple hard drives - then research and prepare for millenniums straight in order to prevent, circumvent or negate the impending catastrophe (e.g. survive to M30 while keeping the complete STC so you could bring Imperium of Man back to DAoT level of tech; invent something much more interesting than sex and give that "something" to Eldar in order to stop their hedonistic habits and prevent Slaanesh from existing; etc).
Yet another about WH40K DAoT start: if you manage to ascend to higher wild-superintelligence levels but don't manage to prevent the collapse of human civilization, the good option is simply holing up in bunker-arcologies and "tombs" (like Necrons did).
Said bunker-arcologies would have lots of weapons, production facilities, computronium, databases, complete STCs, and be scattered across entire galaxy. They would allow to simply "sleep past" Cybernetic Revolt (M23-M25) and Age of Strife (M25-M30) without getting drawn into their events, and therefore evade getting destroyed. The further in timeline, the worse things get for everyone except you - while you and your stashes remain the same, therefore getting stronger in comparison to others.
As such, if such plan is successful, it would allow to get into "Proppa Warhammer" (M31-M42) times while retaining wild superintelligence, DAoT technologies and "build civilization from ground up" kits. At this point, you - or rather, "an Archailect which once was you" - can proceed to re-build civilization with himself in lead. Rapidly expand, assimilate everything, and crush all those who stand in your way. Starting as very tall empire, and turning into utter menace.
Considering radically different ideology, that Mecanicus view AIs as monstrous (how to prove that you're not AI, if there's nothing organical in you at this point?), that you're absolutely incomprehensible to normal humans at this point and your massive power - it's easy to say that "Post-You The DAoT-era Archailect" (how what you even are at this point?) would be far greater threat to everyone around than even Abaddon The Despoiler himself. It turns into war against everyone, albeit screwed in your favor.
Is it actually possible? It depends, since not much is known about DAoT in canon, so chunks of similarly-advanced settings could be considered as "counts-as". If just canon information about DAoT is taken, it's 100% unknown what would happen there and whether or not you could manage to ascend to higher wild-superintelligence levels.
