Yep, I've noticed some stuff which make them extremely similar.

Both have prior knowledge on each other, Speed Equalized, Izuru Kamakura and Ultimate Kars are used.

Looking at Hajime's profile, it seems that most of his abilities are applicable only through surgery while the music induced paralysis, Kars can probably just modify his eardrums or something. The only thing I can think of that could be applicable on Kars is the madness manip and even then, the pillar men are well versed in the Art of War which includes intimidation tactics.

However... Supernatural Luck was what allowed Joseph to beat Kars. I'm leaning towards Hajime
