Tier 9-B Enter the Octagon Tournament 2022: Chris Jericho vs Deathstroke (The Finale)

Bro what???
like I said im not arguing skill and thats what is being argued now. last WWE match completely killed this for me as it was one big skill argument, if this is just Balor VS Slade all over again but the other dude apparently has better skill and goes for his One-Hit Victory option usually then im not arguing since the one who is going to win is clear as day. if other people wanna argue, be my guest.

Jericho deadass beat two people in the tourney with weapons.

What kind of argument is this???
'Cause, you know, realistically even a thug with a knife can take down a master martial artist.
And what kind of weapons were they? We're talking about pro wrestling, it can be meant to be a serious fight as you want, but it's still within sport parameters, nothing like a death match, there's a reason is sports have rules, especially against someone like this Deathstroke, who doesn't seem to be fresh of kindergarten.

I will bring skill into this, Slade is at a disadvantage in it, he's fighting someone with not only IR, but massive skill scaling chains that go past a mere "70 years" we're talking someone here who ended numerous winstreaks, and became the champion in numerous characters, in the last thread, it did seem a more general agreement that they were even, so logically here, Jericho should far outstrip here. the weapons don't come into play as Jericho can likely disarm them by that such, he also can bring it to the grapples were the range won't really matter, as for wearing him down as per my Tsusaku argument earlier, at least this time, we have settled arguments for Jericho overcoming weapons, he's done it several times, and the bleeding out won't be an issue with code breaker

In addition, a weapon isn't an automatic wincon, yes it gives Slade more range, but that's it. it's not a durability negation, it doesn't hit harder than Slade's normal AP. it essentially is his normal AP rather than punching

Death Match and Murder/Buried Alive match exist in Pro wrestling.

WWE is entertainment, in the verse of such, we got mfs using magic and demonic transformations, treat it like you would any other verse
I know, but it's not like the matches play out like a D&D round with them danmaku-ing each other, and it's still meant to be a fairly realistic sport.

You wouldn’t see this logic in a Punch Out thread and you know it, even then WWE has not a lotta rules, and there have been several matches with exactly 0. There’s a whole yearly PPV event dedicated to that kinda match lol

Death matches were no one really dies and its meant to be a catchy name,
Speak to any soldier or martial art teacher and they'll tell you that no martial art really prepares you for an armed opponent you don't have anything with you to match, and wrestlers fight with makeshift objects, not real weapons, which, btw, this Slade seems to be able of using pretty damn well, let alone the fact Jericho's got nothing and no were to flee.

Uhm, Idk what logic just happened here, in verse people canonically react on pure instinct, and use magic, that's not "Realistic"
It's not 100% realistic, but it's pretty much close to reality, it's not like Dragon Ball or else, they are still treated in-verse as athletes.

Jericho legit beat Tsukasa and Kohaku, two people with weapons (one of them Jericho won fairly convincingly).

Sick and tired of WWE being treated like this.

It's a regular verse, like any other verse in this wiki. Stop treating it differently because everything is scripted.

  • Immense Pain Tolerance (Survived and won after getting cut open with a pizza cutter, going through Tubelights, Glass and going into Thumbtacks with severe bloodloss. He is strong enough to pull himself back from a chair headshot and even tried to hang on after getting his with the V-Trigger)

safe to say, getting hit by a sword with roughly even AP isn't going to one shot him

  • Instinctive Reaction: (Professional wrestlers can use pure instincts to kick out of finishers which has been confrimed by the commentary team, Was able to immendiaty hit Rey Mysterio with his finisher after getting knocked out by his 619.)
Uses IR both offensively and defensively

Jericho's IR needs a better description.

The links I used for IR should be added as well. Anyone well willing to add them to his profile?

Kenny Omega stuff is from his AEW 9-C Key by the way still should be decent in WWE too in terms of pain tolerance.

Jericho has had many matchups where he lost hefty amounts of blood, and still continued fighting on with little issue (His match against JBL at Royal Rumble 2008 is a prime example of this).
