Yes, vector twist can be either thought based or gesture based by twisting her wrist, both are faster then raising a hand and saying lock.
 
all he does is player's choice, so it's hard to tell with what he starts, but no doubt he starts with EE or with skills that are both offensive and defensive. His defensive skills are thought based, his offensive skills are LS, and the 2B summon is omnipresent.
