Honestly **** cosmic Garou. It's a writing atrocity, quite literally the weakest written part of OPM. I will be all the more happy if they make the Webcomic version into the anime.
 
We still have the version of Saitama for debates even if the anime doesn't adapt it and I mean it doesn't really even matter.

In 2 years both Saitama and Cosmic Garou have been dragged through every matchup possible on the internet. All the anime is gonna do is make some people think he can beat Goku again (which he can't)

I would much rather enjoy the story especially since the dialogue for the Webcomic is hilarious.

Although the Manga has no swearing. I don't understand Japanese censorship. Melons, bussys and panels that look like erotic movie ads are fine.

Ripping out monster guts are fine. But saying F-U-C-K is a big no no.
 
I'm not sure if anyone has already mentioned this, but couldn't we upgrade Saitama's speed based off the fact that he returned to Earth super quickly after getting hit with a gamma ray burst? That attack must've sent him flying towards the edge of the solar system and yet he returned minutes later. That's gotta be MFTL at least right? Can someone calc it?

Nothing like that happened. We don't know how far he went so there is no calc do be done.

But we know how powerful a gamma ray burst is and we know how much Saitama weighs (70 kg) so couldn't we make some estimates and lowball it? It should still be an upgrade.

There is no way to calculate it because movment from KE is limited at just below the speed of light. Now yes we do ignore this when we have distance and time but we have neither in this.

So at best this feat is 99.9% light speed.
 
damn... I just wanted my boi to finally escape the FTL lowball but seems like it's just not meant to be. Bro can destroy a galaxy but is barely faster than Yamcha
 
It's not a lowball though. Besides the alt timeline which has 22x ftl feat the verse indeed does cap at a few times ftl. Which is still much better than the webcomic.

Also sorry to burst your bubble but Saitama even in the future timeline is getting blitzed by current Yamcha it's just that his profile hasn't been updated from his Z version, even then being mistaken for Goku post Vegeta fight means he is easily over 48c in Android saga.

Super Anime Yamcha even if he is just 0.001% of Krillen, that's still decillions of times faster than Saitama. DBS has the highest MFTL+ numbers on this wiki that I know of. It's so ridiculously high that it might as well be infinite.

Super Manga Yamcha is about 13,824,000,000,000c for beating Moro's empowered minions. If you take those Minions as Unempowered then Yamcha is 1080c, still far above OPM.

Also, I remember someone mentioning using snail speed for Flashy to estimate Blast's speed a few days ago

If a competent anime studio gets handed the webcomic script with ONE's supervision that could be wonderful, but as others have said it's likely OPM will remain under JC Staff's thumb if the anime does continue after this season.

If that is so, I'd rather they adapt Cosmic Garou because if they're forced to expand the webcomic story it will become an incoherent mess. One can talk about the loss of Garou vs the S-class, the loss of key dialogue about Garou's motivation, the plot-holiness of the time travel bit, but the narrative did at least go from point a to b without major continuity errors unlike S3 so far.

Ah yes, I love it when characters are trillions of times faster than light because they fought a random dude who fought some other random dude who fought someone's grandma who crossed the universe in 0.1 seconds because she needed to take a ѕhit really bad.

Obviously I'm exaggerating here, but do you see how dumb chainscaling is? Dragon Ball has some of the most inconsistent showings when it comes to on-screen feats. The vast majority of Dragon Ball characters, even top tiers, have absolutely pathetic on-screen feats in contrast to their stats on VS battles wiki. Early DBS Goku was getting hit by bullets and laser pistols, but you'll probably say he's a gazillion times faster than light. Cherrypicking statements + chainscaling are some of the lamest ways to wank a character. Imagine asking Toriyama if Yamcha can move 14 trillion times faster than light because he fought Moro's minions. He would laugh in your face (or maybe not since he's dead...)

Let's totally ignore the fact that Dyspo moving at light speed was considered very impressive during the ToP.
Or the time DBS Vegeta damn near broke his back trying to lift Magetta, who weighs around 1000 tons.
How about DBS Goku being pierced and almost killed by a fodder's laser gun, but he was able to tank bullets as a kid.
Goku and Vegeta STILL consider planet-busting attacks to be very impressive and dangerous, even though they're supposedly multiversal in durability.

Powerscaling is pretty much irrelevant in shows like Dragon Ball because the writers themselves don't care. Just cherrypick feats/statements while chainscaling, and ignore everything else that makes them look weak. This is what Bleach fans do too.

OPM characters get their stats from actual on-screen feats. Saitama is multi-solar system level because he fսcking destroyed multiple solar systems and we saw him do it. Not because we chainscaled him to some super obscure feat that is extremely inconsistent with 99% of the other feats in the show.

OPM is more consistent about these situations, no blame on DB.

The only thing i don't like about it is that their speed directly scales to their universe destroying clash.

I don't think it's consistent at all, as even characters like Whis normally doesn't travel at those levels of speed.

Not to mention, travelling to the center of the universe is deemed impossible in the verse for characters like them as it is too far but they scale to the value of their shockwaves that traveled the entire universe in such a short time? Dunno how it got accepted.

Yes Toriyama wouldn't care about powerscaling. That goes for every writer. Such a dumb point. Also any big story going on for half a century will have inconsistencies. This isn't limited to manga or anime, even comics have his issue. Goku getting hit by bullets and lasers is due to his carelessness and suppressing his ki to a minimum. Z Fighters when focusing can tone down their power to that of Mr Satans.

Dyspo moving at light speed was a translation error. Originally it is called "super speed mode". Garou says Saitama is as tough as a Mountain. So if we are running with that then Deku one shots both Garou and Saitama and the rest of the opm cast since they are below both of them.
When was lifting strength related to this ? Flash can't lift all that much either.
A laser gun that maybe powered by ki as we see that standard freiza goons had canons to focus their battle power. And again that is specifically to show how muhc Goku lets his guard down.
Because of both of them can sense ki.

Again most writer don't give a shit about powerscaling. Hell OPM is literally made as a parody of normal shonen and One really doesn't give a **** about making the characters uber strong. So I guess OPM should be the first one on the list to get deleted from this wiki then.

Ofcourse statement are necessary for such feats as multiversal destruction feats actually happening would end the story. Unless you want to do something like time travel to reverse the damage thus degrading the entire arc essentially retconning it with one of the most horrible writing tropes. Oh wait that's exactly what OPM did.
 
It wasn't shockwaves. It was their energy. And Ki emanating through the universe happens several times in DB. Goku is able to pull energy from both inside and outside of the universe in Buu Saga.

When you don't know about rules of the site, I would suggest shutting up.

Is there any speed feat that actually makes them reach these levels? I don't remember (I really don't remember :d, so i might be wrong).
