Hopefully not. The sane Star Wars fans are increasingly lashing out at the trolls and calling out there bullshit.

There will be controversy. That is guaranteed. But it hopefully won't be as bad as with TLJ.

Holdo's plan is entirely contrived and relies on characters being out of character to work thus destroying any tension or stakes when those plans fail.

Shadow what about ray being a mary sue and overpowered takling about overpowering characters is not a great idea for the fandom it leads to the fandom cractising people are you ans soilder blue. Thier is not such thing as sane fans of any fandom. Fandoms always toxic or leads to toxic behavior.

Poe should have promorted because that was the planto destroyer the dreadnought. tough ships flaling backs words and running out of fuel is stupid because of the lack of gravity well near and ships traval and mve at the speed of plot and have unlimited fuel when they need to.

there are varied levels of Overpowered, force ghost would be worse because you cant kill them

while Rey is OVERPOWERED she is not a Mary Sue

she Objectively does not meet Literary criteria for Mary Sue, this is Objective and Provable

She is more overpowered than most mary sues. Yes, she fails flying the falcon but she can defeat a sith lord. Multiuple elite troops at once lift mountains and large boulder in the second movie when look could not lift is X wing off the ground high enougt to transport. She never had an lastin health effects form tthose fore awakens and last jedi battles. She and comminute with people using interstellar distances without training. She lacks training though the movie. She a women with the powers and abilities Jedi grand master at 22

also i can give you better examples of Mary Sues in star wars that people love.

She has flown ships before as stated by the character in the film and she knows about the Jedi, more than Luke did in a New hope.

She didnt defeat a Sith Lord, she defeated a darkside user still in training who was severely crippled by a bowcaster that was capable of knocking fully armed stormtroopers off their feet and flying dozens of meters.

He could, the only reason he didnt was because he believed he was unable to, that's the point and moral of that scene, if you believe in something you can do it. hence why when Luke see's yoda do it he says "I dont believe it" and Yoda replies "thats why you fail"

Neither does Luke, he loses his hand only for it to be replaced 4 min later by an improved steel arm, Luke's loss is mostly pscyological in ESB with the whole dad is evil thing.

She actually does train, when she is on Achto you can see her apply her staff combat to her lightsaber combat.

Yoda has been a jedi for hundreds of years obi wan is powerful and nrealy took on darth avder after the clone wars Anakin and luke are sith lords and jedi father and son son and grand son of palatine and darth plagues the wise
 
Yeah so her parants lack force abilities and powers militry training. most jedi have more superior feats but she is the defeat a sithlord with little work. She piloted the falcon quit well even with mishaps and did the most ridiculous move to get a kill shot the falcon has ever done. Aside form the falcon missiles being able to kill battlestastions not withstanding

Speeders might be similar to spaceships but Rey actually flew spaceships before TFA, also Anakin outperformed an entire squadron with out flying anything.

this doesnt apply to star wars, IRL the reason why it doesnt work is because weapons have different weights,curves and shapes, meaning each one is different in terms of slicing and piercing power, a Lightsaber is an Omni directional blade that weighs nothing, you can apply most fighting styles to a lightsaber, the only problem with a saber is that you need to becareful that you dont hurt yourself but precognition helps with that.
