i like how in the moment idw was fused into the main cannon, neo metal modern became a beast of a character lol
Neo Metal's return was one of the greatest things to happen in the entire comic. He's basically Garou's Garou .

IDW has been a real treat in adding more depth to some of the characters with lackluster profiles. Characters like Mecha Mk.II getting the time of day, and likely returning, is awesome.

yeah that is the best part, it is not lame op, it is good plot op, when the story is good it feels even better, now all i want is Mecha Mk.III to return as well, imagine, he could could be a good counter character to the new Mk.II

All the Low 2-C stuff is Base Sonic scaling to things that scale to super forms (Phantom King, Super Mecha Sonic, Perfect Chaos), and Sonic downscaling Dark Queen Merlina through the same logic that gets Mewtwo scaling to 50% Zygarde.

If Maginaryworld was still only universe-sized that would have been another one but, alas, not the case.

get this cringe 4-A/low 2-C power scaling outta here and talk about something more important like Sonics moveset in smash.

Besides the obvious change of giving him a side special that's not just a second spin dash what changes would you fellas make to his moveset?

I feel like adding a Phantom Rush comeback mechanic would be sick, similar to Joker's but a bit more different in effects; it gives him slightly more damage, jump height, faster attacks, and less endlag. The gauge slowly depletes overtime when it becomes full.

Now keep in mind, I'm not exactly knowledgeable on all of Sonic's moves since I haven't played a lot of Sonic games and the game I most recently played from the series I played was Frontiers.
  • Jab is fine.
  • F-tilt can be changed to one of the kicks Sonic does in Frontiers at the end of a standard combo.
  • Dash attack could have a Boost effect in it to emphasize the fact that it's a dash attack.
  • D-tilt is fine.
  • U-tilt I dunno lol.
  • I think Neutral-B, Down-B, and Up-B should stay the same, those are all moves that are pretty iconic in terms of Sonic. Side-B can definitely be changed, though, and I think it could be changed to a 3-burst Sonic Boom (not the game) from Frontiers.
  • F-Smash is iconic so keep it the same.
  • U-Smash could be changed, but to what, I dunno.
  • D-Smash is fine.
  • N-Air is also fine, but I want a gimmick to where it can be held to perform a short Spin Dash like the Drop Dash.
  • F-Air could be changed, but I dunno to what either.
  • B-Air is fine.
  • D-Air should be the ending kick Sonic does when you hold the control stick back in Frontiers.
  • U-Air seems fine.
  • Final Smash should be changed to where you can use Super Sonic's Grand Slam against an opponent, and a flashy animation would play when you hit it.
  • Everything else is irrelevant imo

I remember seeing that Sakurai himself enjoyed Sonic Frontiers to the point that he recommended it IIRC, so the way I see it I believe that when an inevitable Smash 6 comes out in the future? Sakurai might definitely take notes from Frontiers in terms of move set.

But FR I want Sonic to get some new moves, he's one of my mains in practically all Smash games since Brawl and outside of mods his move set leaves a lot to be desired

Oh wait, forgot that Sonic’s speed allowed him to fix space and time in the zones he visited in Generations; even if the scale was universe sized.

The scale includes everything Eggman and Sonic ever went to as Sonic said himself that eggman affected pretty much everywhere he went/was at.
Well Sonic only does it one at a time so, I think it’s fair to cap Sonic at Uni for the feat in his base form.

In fact if it’s just a Uni feat it’s actually consistent with Sonic beating Perfect Chaos and it can stop being an outlier for AP

It's interesting to think about. I'm down taking some inspiration from Battle, but his moveset wouldn't feel interesting if a third of it was just moves ported from the game. I'd make his Back Air the Sonic Eagle, but, have the animation altered in a way to allow proper build up before the kick. Neutral Air could be the Insta-Shield, with Aerial Down Special being the Bounce Attack. Grounded Down B would still be Spindash, but, it'd function more like how it typically does in Sonic games, as opposed to the coincidentally somewhat Lost World-esc one we current have in Smash, where he can go back and forth with it. Up Special would still be the Spring, but, it could no longer serve as an attack by dropping it. The design and sound would be changed to the modern one from SA1, and I think it'd be fun if he spun around like in CD. Neutral Special would still be Homing Attack, but I like the idea that it wouldn't really rev up like it currently does. It would just go. It isn't a kill move anymore, but, you can control Sonic's trajectory. If you hold B when using it, he'll carry his momentum and bounce further off off them. If you tap it, you won't go far after hitting your target, but, you could potentially follow that up with other attacks.
I also have an idea for his Side Special that I like, but, I know that's not the point of your question.
