Science Fantasy IC

I chuckle slightly.

"Not really, that statue represents a man who resembles the Buddha, in reality the story tells of a man who looked like the Buddha and the people mistaken him for such, but it saddened him to the point of taking refuge in a cave", I tell.

"The locals, however, continued to bring him offerings and he ate it, at the end when he came out of the cave he noticed that no one prayed to him anymore or he mistaken him for the Buddha, this is due to the fact that he was fattened"

(Dryly) "Yes, the Buddha was known for his incredible catchphrases of 'gotta go fast' and 'you're too slow'. That second one lead directly to his rivalry with Teddy Roosevelt during his phase of trying to conquer the world with robotic animals. For further information, see the interactive historic document 'Sonic '06'."

"Cool story, but enough chit-chat, let's search for the troublemakers and yeet them." Magent says, cracking his knuckles, his Wrecking Balls spinning around him.

"It could also mean that following the teachings of the Buddha will make your soul very fat. Yes, I think you have the historical meaning pretty well taken to heart." "Anyway, I'm here to learn why you have come to this new Temple?"

"Oh, we have heard that there are problems here in China-Town and we have come to settle the matter"
"You don't look like police. You'll have to show me proper identification."

"How about I show you this." He shows him... nothing. literal nothing. he's holding thin air. in a circle way, somehow due to the spin.

"What are you doing?"

"Erm. . . What on Earth are you doing?"

"It's a cool trick I can do, here take it." He throws it at him, it turns into a gentle breeze.
The Buddhist monk stares at you for what seems like an eternity before taking a deep breath: "Get out."

"Please forgive my friend, he has the soul of Sun Wukong," I say, shaking my head slightly.

"Anyway could you tell us if you've seen strange things that have happened here lately? Please?", I ask in a gentle tone.

In attempt to get this back on track and hopefully learn something useful, I step forward to speak with the monk.

"I apologise for our resident jester. Just ignore him, we only keep him around for random laughs. We are actually a uh .... paranormal investigation group. Our benefactor is a fan of the supernatural and heard through the grapevine that there might be things of that nature happening in the area. If you know of any rumours, it would be much appreciated if you could point us in the direction and we'll can leave you in peace."

Halflight was recreated by his ghost and enters trough the portal leading to Chinatown.

"Hi fuc*ers, i am back."

He says very loudly to the others.

"Recently, the same statue here has been acting very strangely. At night it speaks to us and grants us our wishes. Seemingly for nothing in return, except that we take care of it."

@Overlord

I sigh.

"I'll take care of him," I mutter,to then pull out an amulet.

It starts to emit a red-pink aura while I point it to Halflight.

"Listen to me, I'm not one for the threats, but know this, if you behave in a civil manner and don't try to shoot every person that happens to you ... I'll avoid sealing you in this amulet ... and trust me, it's a fate worse than death ", I say in a calm but slightly tired tone.

"Ah, a wish granting statue... that can go wrong in the hands of the wrong people. Like somebody could wi- Wait, not gonna finish that because I might give someone ideas."

"Anyone who would make said wish you had in mind probably already thought of it."

Turning to the monk, I say.

"That said, would it be possible for us to observe the statue overnight?"

"Yeah, although watching the statue would be boring a bit, we will be willing to watch it just in case someone tries to steal it or use it for the wrong reasons."

"Sure. Maybe you might have the urge to wish for something yourselves."

I take off my glasses and look at them.

It appears I don't need these anymore.

I put the glasses in my pocket and turn to the monk.

"Do you know of any scrapyards nearby?"

@Spider

Turning to the monk Ezra asks

"Does anyone outside the temple know what's happening? Or do you think there's reason to expect an attack?"

"Um well the problem is that the statue is highly valuable but the statue also emits a powerful aura. No one wants to steal it."

"Thanks for putting up with us for the time being. What kind of wishes has the statue been granting? Were they literal, have any unwanted drawbacks, limitations of any kind?"

"Generally the statue is upfront about wishes that are beyond it's power. Some people wish for money, others wish for a strong body, there are even some elderly who wish to be young again, all these wishes have been granted." "A scant few wish for something else like magical power or some such things, this too the statue has granted, but with stipulations and sometimes even warnings."
