Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

I left a warning on his wall.

I banned Galactic Astronaut for 3 days. That was too confrontational of him over the most petty thing on an unrelated thread, which he then proceeded to continue here on the RVRT, despite many people telling him to stop. He needs to learn when to drop an argument, especially when he is being warned repeatedly by staff members, not bite back at them.

It seems like he is an ongoing problem that needs to be dealt with then. For how long should we ban him?

What do the rest of the staff here think? 6 months to a year seems reasonable at least.

1 month is the lowest that should be done.
"Man, I love derailing VSBW upgrade threads made by people I hate so they never get approved"
Like what?
I say maybe 3

If he is intentionally causing ongoing harm to this community, I personally don't mind at least a year.

If he this bad then 6-9 months to the ocean at bare minimum. But again should we leave a warning at his face first?

So likely between 6 months and a year then, but we need staff input to decide the duration.

Yes, 1 year seems more appropriate, given that malicious intent was involved. Maybe permanent would be better.

So should we write "Systematically derailing content revision threads with self-stated malicious intent" as ban reason?

A yearlong ban seems fine. I personally would've gone with 6 months (and was going to do so until I noticed more messages after the first few, har har) but 1 year is acceptable.

I'd keep in mind that he seems to imply he has alts. Keep an eye out for similar behavior, lads.

So should we write "Systematically derailing content revision threads with self-stated malicious intent" as ban reason?
That'd be a good summary, yes. Even if your points are theoretically grounded in reason (in your opinion, at least), causing arguments just to keep CRTs from happening is unacceptable.

Thank you for the input. Would you be willing to block him here and in the wiki please? Also, it is probably best to avoid forum IP blocks.

Has Sean been warned before? If not then I wouldn't go for a perma ban

Also one of the screenshots shows someone asking if they are doing this on their main account, that could imply he has an alt. Doesn't confirm it tho
