I have a curious question though, wouldn't the beam of light from excaliblast can be stop or at least can be slowed by AZ of Rukia's bankai? according this article, the frozen atom can stop the light in its track.

@Dot That's an interesting article, but unless she freezes her whole body in AZ for a long period of time, it won't be saving her. Rukia's limit is 4 seconds I think, not counting the time it needs her to activate it.

Edit: And the 4 seconds thing only apply the after the mist disappeared.

Excalibur does it as well. The "beam of light" is actually an optical illusion created by the fact that Excalibur dislocated space across everything its tip razed.
