Calcs are great and all but we must half the self-awareness to sometimes realize we are getting results way ahead of anything even remotely implied on screen or on the narrative.

Well to be fair. I personally do question when it is and isnt appropriate to use cinematic effect and timeframes when quantifying fiction, since it is sometimes dependant just on how the scene is drawn and animated rather than what is intended in the narrative.

It isn't. The Databook for the anime states Boros can planet bust. But both the Webcomic, Manga, and the Manga databook state that Boros is a surface-wiper.
