Questions about Tenma ( Õñ®Ú¡ö)

This doesn't specifically concern any verse here. But, i have heard many times about Tenma in many japanese works. Though when i try to search more, what comes out is Tenma ( Õñ®Úª¼ or Sky horses) or Tenma goddesses. The explanation i found wasn't enough for me. So what is Tenma demons that are usually portrayed in japanese works, at least irl? Why they are usually classified different and portrayed stronger than other japanese demons like Oni?

Õñ®Ú¡ö is a Demon of the sixth heaven in the realm of desire who tries to prevent people from doing good. Basically they come from Buddist Myth, based on the Japanese pronounciation of Ti─ünmó, The Chinese name for Mara. Which is spelled with the same Characters.

Mara is "One Who Delights in Destruction", a Deamon of Lust and Vice. "the personification of the forces antagonistic to enlightenment.". Associated with Death, Rebirth, and Desire.

Basically it is a singular Buddist Demon, with its name made more general, to apply to any Demonesque being or creature.
