Pokémon General Discussion Thread Gen VI: The Best of them all

Reminder that in Gen 5 there´s in game a Pokewood "movie" creature that is indexed as Ghost/Dark type and has Wonder Guard

Even Nintendo is aware of the hacked Wonder Guard Spiritombs that were in the Gen 4 GTS

And let´s not talk about the very... vulgar nicknames Jirachis have in the Gen 6 GTS...

Necrozma in Chapter 31 is Dawn Wings already, so its likely that Perfect Z is gonna face Base Necrozma who absorbed Solgaleo and Lunalas power and then during the fight or afterward it'll become Ultra Necro.

How did Ultra Necrozma appear in the games? I'm asking because I've never played the gen 7 games or watched a gameplay so the manga is my first experience of Gen 7.

@Starter Pack: Can't speak for the anime, but I can see the issue with the game. Lyssandre in particular is tried to be pushed as a tragic villain but the revelation of his motives is too sudden and his scarce appearances didn't help to develop his character. Not to mention, despite his motives, which could work out, the world is always shown as a perfectly happy place so they come as unfounded.

There's also he was friends with Sycamore, which could have been a good way to add depth to both of them, but IIRC all that came out of it was Sycamore making a comment of how he lamented how Lyssandre had fallen.

IIRC there was a calc that would boost First Stage mons to Low 7-C or 7-C, but it kinda that died away

Yeah, that one, but that was never brought up to be discussed, or it was and i don't remember it

There is also a Piplup feat that putted him at Low 7-B+ but is problaby an outlier, since Dawn's Piplup is the top percentage of Piplups

Looks like it needs evaluation for the recalcing. So with all these calcs, we might have upgrades for Baby & Stage 1 Pokemon possible.

Hey Cal, do you want me to make a CRT for the upgrade of Baby and First Stage mons, or do you think that it is an outlier?

IIRC, I think there's also a feat of Ice creation/thawing via Pokemon Stadium 1/2 because of the size of ice Onix & Steelix get encased in when frozen, & how any ice or fire move (Such as from Smoochum or Magby) can freeze or thaw them. Might not be valid, & hard to find footage of, though.

@Imaginym I think that none will get as High as those other feats, and is prob game Mechanics

Well, Baby Pokemon are tiered differenly from Stage 1 'mons like Piplup & Buneary, but yeah, might be a bit lower.

I dislike how TV Tropes insults Spinda, as t´s the only Pokémon that can do Skill Swap Contrary.

Which can lead to Contrary V-Create Mega Rayquaza...

Spinda can do the Own Tempo + Choice Band Boosted Thrash Combo.

STAB Thrash off of base 60 ATK, with a 0% chance of Confusion after 2 or 3 turns instead of a 50% chance, with Choice Band?

252+ Atk Choice Band Spinda Thrash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Phione: 237-280 (78.7 - 93%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

It's certainly an option, I guess....

Lilligant can do something similar with Own Tempo, Choice Specs and Petal Dance.

If Spinda can Skill Swap Own Tempo onto a Dragon-type with Outrage, that would be powerful.

Or you could do what Norman's Spinda did in the Manga and Skill Swap it with Slaking's Truant.

Nice damage, but if you're using a Spinda to Skill Swap with a Dragon type, why not Skill Swap Contrary & spam Draco Meteor?

If you just want to Skill Swap over Own Tempo, compared to Spinda....

Smeargle is faster, Slowbro & Slowking are bulkier, and Grumpig is bulkier AND faster!

Heck, even Espurr is bulkier and faster than Spinda, surprisingly enough!

Oh, and Lilligant once again, can do this; It's also bulkier & faster, except it uses Entrainment instead of Skill Swap.

I guess Spinda if you want Normal instead of Psychic or Grass type filling the role, & you can't have Smeargle doing it? (Already on team, or too fragile or such.)

Rayquaza paired with Entrainment Petal Dance Own Tempo Lilligant. New Doubles Meta.

Because I'm trying to be original and not do things the way everyone else is doing them!

@HenryWong122: Well, good luck with your strategies, I suppose. Personally, I'm not sure if Contrary Skill Swap+Draco Meteor Teammate Spinda has been done much before, though, but, you build your team how you like.
