looks like genjutsu gg ends this now if this was strange from his 2nd movie where he is likely gonna fight wanda he might have resistance but as of now he does not

They're bloodlusted, which apparently means both will go for whatever is their best chance at victory, so in Obito's case, Genjutsu.

I mean...

Bloodlust refers to a state where a character is fighting without any inhibitions, and cares about nothing other than defeating the enemy.

Bloodlusted characters fear nothing, and won't hesitate taking injures if it leads to a higher probability of winning a battle.

A bloodlusted character will not be victim to Character-Induced Stupidity, and will be much more likely to speed blitz opponents (if doing so is within their powerset).
It's not like genjutsu is his strongest move. Nor does he magically knows that Strange is weak to it.

It doesn't need to be his strongest move, it's his best move against an opponent he knows nothing about.

I don't see why the second point matters, he's used Genjutsu against characters who are resistant to it multiple times, whether or not he knows if his opponent is resistant or not isn't going to make any any more or less likely to use it.

I doubt his best move against an opponent he knows nothing about would be the one with additional requirements, like looking eye to eye.

It's his easiest move to achieve and with an almost guaranteed chance of ending the fight... Nothing else he has is anywhere near as likely to give him the win, because they either aren't thought based or aren't anywhere near as easy to achieve.

Don't see why you're stonewalling, Genjutsu is clearly his best option, it's thought based, ranged and ends the fight basically instantly.

If Obito is Bloodlusted, what's stopping him from trying to nuke Strange with a Bijū-Dama from his 5 Bijū while also going for Genjutsu?

I'm pretty sure Strange will try cutting off his head by opening a portal under him and then closing it when it reaches his head. And if he does that he won't be looking into Obito's eyes. Hence, no Genjutsu. It's also likely Strange will time stop before doing this, as that gives him the highest chance of victory. In that case, Obito won't have the chance to cast Genjutsu.

Bloodlusted and at range can’t strange but before mind hax?

wait nvm saw starting distance, seems unfair for strange.

BFR is not an option for Obito but on the other hand it is for strange. He’ll also use the time stone in character, has flight, can instantly make dozens of clones, and spam mirror dimension portals, and well as literally transmute energy attacks. Strange wins imo

Genjutsu is faster than anything Strange can do and instantly ends the fight.

Strange isn't winning this.

Anyway, to be fairer, I changed the initial distance from 10 to 100m.

Then, all votes before editing will be disregarded.

That doesn't make it fairer though, it just reverses the battle and makes it an easy win in stranges favor instead of Obito's

I don't think you can really make this not a stomp

Obito wins by Genjutsu as long as Strange is in range

Strange wins by time hax as long as he's out of Obito's Genjutsu range.

Bloodlusted strange is already going to have the time stone in effect, he always uses it to a tactical advantage but now he’s bloodlusted??? He used it against Kaecilius, used it against Dormammu, and he would’ve used it in the fight against Thanos but the purpose was to hide it from him.

Where was this genjutsu when he was fighting Guy, Kakashi and Naruto? Obito doesn’t “genjutsu gg” people like he’s Itachi.

Can putting both in-character be a good idea?

Bloodlusted makes characters use their best move here essentially, and funnily enough, this Obito has actually used Genjutsu in combat, he did it against Kakashi so don't even try and say it's out of character.

Genjutsu is faster than anything Strange can do here.

Lol he made Kakashi see Rin after Kakashi already put a hole in his chest. Obito doesn’t know Strange to manipulate him with genjutsu and that’s literally bottom tier genjutsu, it isn’t doing anything to Strange. Especially since the Ancient One sent his mind through multiple dimensions before he even got his powers.

Doesn't change that he has used it in combat and again, bloodlust pretty much makes both characters use their most effective move, so it doesn't matter how out of character you consider it.

Naruto mind hax potency >>> any MCU mind hax potency
