Oh, I missed that. Anyway, so The Meta can fight even with debilitating wounds, so the AP Gap shouldn't be too much of a problem. Especially when if things get too bad he can just use the Bubble Shield. Or Invisibility. Or Time Stop.

With different methods. Like sneaking up on him with Invisibility and Decapitating him. Or Stopping time and Decapitating him. Or just camp in the Bubble Shieild and shoot at him all day.
