Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Discussion Thread

(This is a case where you can’t trust everything toei says)
Well, Toei's words are final. So you pretty much cant go against it.
But then again, not every rider transform with a belt. Amazon transfrom with a bracelet, Hibiki transforms with a tuning fork, and Shin is metamorphing.
Not to mention, not every armors are actually a high-tech suit, alot of time they are biological. For biological riders like Shin, his suit was actually his skin

that’s interesting.

is toei in general a good company in terms of storywriting? (The current Kamen rider series is good I hear)

In general ? the short answer would be yes.
The longer answer is that Toei is a massive multi million dollars company that have rights to alot of media out there, each with their own targetted audiences, so one series writing can be bad to others, but very enjoyable to it's targetted audiences.
Kamen Rider is aiming toward teenagers who demanding depts in the stories, and bois, Toei sure know how to delivering those depts.

I wonder if this comparing apples to oranges but is toei better than Disney then?

toei has often been called the disney of japan or something like that?

Depend, Toei is more like Marvel of Japan, given that most cultural heroes of Japan are under Toei's copyright (Including gigantic franchises like One Piece and Dragon Ball).
I dont think Japan has an equivalent to Disney, because Disney is a really big company, even to Toei. The closest company you can call "Disney" of Japan would be Bandai, who is currently sitting on the top of Japan entertainment industry right now

9 build
10 grease
11 cross-z
loved how they are all next to each other
the actors carry that show even tho im not fan of the toys designs (suits are good tho expect one)

i own this, not sure if anyone else does. But who is it again

Frankly tho, the "Marvel of Japan" for me is TsuPro, especially with how much they handled the continuity and the connection between the series

Probably, I can see both of them being the Marvel of Japan.
But then again, if you think about the scale and the expanded universe of the crossovers we have seen from Toei (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Metal Heroes, ect) then you can say that Toei also has a very big connected universe as well.
Toei once did tried to make a Cinematic Universe before, which didnt gone really well (sad, because I really liked 2 Space Squad movies)

The difference is the big connected universe of Toei is pretty convoluted and can be a mess, compared on how smooth and steady the cinematic universe of TsuPro are
But that doesn't mean a bad thing for Toei cinematic universe

Outsiders/Toei Fanclub is kinda like Toei's cinematic universe series with like 1/1,000th of the budget. Nothing compared to Ultra Galaxy Fight but it is there. If Toei ever wants to do anything like Tsurabaya, they gotta sacrifice something but neither the fans nor the producers are ready for that. Kamen Rider has been going so strong that it doesn't need it and Super Sentai is on the upwards trajectory as well. Ultraman was quickly losing it but adjusted exceedingly well by reducing to 20-30 episodes and airing Ultra Galaxy Fight.

I forgot but does every super Sentai and Kamen rider show take place in the same universe?
It's quite complicated; sometimes each series is treated as a different continuity, but sometimes they take place in the same world. The only explanation is whether Toei wants to put them together or not.

more like multiverses cause recent sentai can just world hop now

I believe ZIO explained how all the heisei kamen rider shows exist in one world before being seprated back to different worlds I think?

I don't know if that applies to super sentai.

so what happened at the end of the oma zi-o series? (Does the main character succeed in changing his future so that he doesn’t become an evil dictator)
he's...sorta did.
But then Ohma Zi-O power was passed to another Sougo in the multiverse. That Ohma Zi-O has spend too much of his powers to destroys and creating universe, to the point that he's starting to dies. Hence the said Ohma Zi-O decided to gather all Sougo-s across the multiverse to pick out the most suitable heir for his power, among them was the Sougo that we followed in the TV series.
In the end, our main Sougo became victorious in that "battle royale". So the power returned back to him anyway. We dont know if he became an evil overlord in the future tho.
