Ikki vs Reinhard. Yes it's time.

He only took it out to deal with Puck because of what he was doing and as a the 'champion' of justice he said a few words and wrecked him.

The Sword-Saint's strike simultaneously brought about the world's end as well as its rebirth.

That's not in character either. Considering he has the kind of "make attacks miss" and stuff.

Which ikki gets past via both skill and acausality type 4.
 
Against Theresia, he didn't nuke her cause they were inside a city with a lot of people including his allies who were fighting the witch cult, Cecilius i don't know the context since it's still untranslated...

But from what i know they have fought multiple times, Reinhard obviously doesn't want him dead, if he did, he would be dead.

So in short matter hax is in character if he is willing to kill, wishing for more blessings is also in character but blessings aren't hax things so he can't just wish for time manipulation for example, something like idk forcefield or flight is doable though.

First attack immunity and proceeding attack immunity is just instinctive reaction, he auto dodges everything, if you go by isekai quartet's explanation, if not we have no idea about the mechanics of the ability.

As for Reinhard's skill , his natural talent is such that he can quickly learn things he was previously inexperienced in, and he can ask for blessings in addition to that. As the Sword Saint, his swordsmanship is maxed out and he is basically the most skill swordsman ever.

His swordsmanship is unparalleled even when compared to past Sword Saints such as Thearesia who had heightened battle instincts which are heightened to perfection, regardless of whether it's a sword, spear or axe, as long as it's connected to battle she knew all their perfections and imperfections. To even the most skilled warriors of the kingdom, all Theresia saw in their fighting styles were imperfections.

Wilhelm said that despite being able to surpass Thearesia in swordsmanship, Reinhard is in an entirely different dimension, so far beyond him that it shouldn't even be debated whether or not he could be matched.
 
Hmm skill arguments against ikki really don't lead anywhere.

Anyway. So no instant atomization. I guess ikki can just trackless step or blitz then?

It's still not a sure oppening move for Rein. It's in character, not oppening move all the time.
 
Rein's hax is ridiculous. Even if the Matter manip isn't his first move, Rein has adaptation and wishing. He can also use telepathy, has pretty good regen, and apparently has passive power null (although it's only against Magic so it's useless against Ikki).

Type 8 negates death hax, AoE kills, and matter hax WILL eventually come into play. Plus, the more Ikki cuts him (since Ikki uses a sword), the more he bleeds, which means he gets stronger and faster. Also if it's raining, sunny, morning, or night, he passively gets stronger. I mean sure, Ikki's skill WILL push Reinhard back, but he isn't a slouch in terms of skill, and he will eventually overpower Ikki throughout the battle thanks to his passive abilities that power him up even further.

And yeah, all his other Blessings help as well. Then he can wish for flight, forcefield, air walking, and other stuff that slowly push back Ikki. Also, Reinhard has supernatural presence detection and senses.

I see this as Ikki initially dominating the fight due to his sheer skill, but eventually Reinhard adapts (he has Adaptation in his profile) and wishes on more blessings PLUS gets passively stronger as the fight continues, and therefore eventually beats Ikki.

Also Celestial said he uses Matter hax if he is "willing to kill". And SBA says this:

"State of mind: In character, but willing to kill. The characters will employ their usual battle strategies, including flaws such as being casual, however, must be willing to kill the opponent even if they usually won't."

So matter hax + adaptation + other hax and Blessings means Ikki loses this one.
 
Ok so before we dive into anything else, passive power null.... what? Elaborate cus that's a huge deal.

The rest don't really come into play with such a massive skill gap with things like void step being a thing.

SBA says "willing to kill" so that they don't hold back in killing. The usual strategies are in play, it doesn't turn ppl into bloodlusted monsters that go for the kill off the bat, just that they won't hesitate to kill if need be.

The power null is irelevent because Ikki doesn't need to draw in mana from the atmosphere. And yeah, Reinhard is not bloodlusted so he might not atomize as first move but he will eventually, it's not like he will be hesitant to use it in this scenario. Also I'm yet to hear what Ikki's wincon would be in this battle.

The point of SBA is that the characters have zero hesitation when it comes to killing. They're fighting strategies stay the same however.

You can be INSANELY skilled and all but if you're up against someone who is also VERY skilled (not close to you but still VERY good) and has so much versatility to adapt to many different scenarios the playing field gets leveled.

No, not at all. We're talking about a guy who is supposedly really skilled to dudes who can almost use literal hax via skill. It really doesn't do help.... like at all
 
I read the description for phantom form, it's useless. Rein auto dodges even when asleep, Od Lagna can probably lake him up too.

Oikage gets negged by type 8, fate hax, while it would turn this into a stomp, ikki doesn't really use it at all in his key, he likely doesn't even know how to use it.

Auto dodge isn't an answer to phantom form, though phantom form from new translated novels may turn into plain pain hax.
 
Reinhard dodges things he isn't even aware of, hence why stuff like surprise attacks are useless.

I mean Subaru tried like thousands of times by abusing return by death, in one of the if's and failed every time, it didn't matter what surprise attacks or any sort of tactics he came up with.

Od Laguna seems for some reason intent on making Reinhard undefeatable in Re Zero, at best anyone can hope to do is stalemate the guy since he basically resists everything, and gains blessings for whatever situation comes up but lacks broken offensive hax.

I really wanna know why Od Laguna is boosting him.
 
Surprise attacks and things his mind consciously blocks from memory and perception are not the same.

And besides you'd need to explain how he can dodge if it is not physically possible by let's say ikki's amps.
 
Range is sorta being ignored here, Ikki's isn't much, and the 2 will start 4km apart from each other, even if he doesn't instantly go for matter hax, which he will eventually, Reinhard would still nuke the area.

Anyway taking my leave here, have a bunch of stuff i need to read as usual.
