Genshin Impact General Discussion!

I've been thinking about playing Genshin after the 4 months the game was released, but I decided to wait at least 3 or 4 years to accumulate the story content as much as possible as I decided to do with Honkai in 2019 and I only returned to play a few months recently, and I must admit it was a good choice to enjoy the overall story, and I will do the same with Genshin.

Also, a honest question, the Inazuma's story is as bad or weak as they say? You can talk with spoilers to explain why, I don't care

The amount of awesome in FGO’s main story is directly proportional to how stupid the events are. One day they’re battling gods with themes of perfection and the next they’re going “where did Hokusai’s swimsuit come from” before deciding to go gambling at a casino.

Also I still have no earthly idea how Ritsuka Fujimaru won against the S.I.N. Lostbelt. Both Akuta and Xiang Yu were wreaking 3 servants at once individually but when they were working together against a force of 6 servants they were decisively beaten without even killing a single one of them despite them logically being tired from been fighting for a while including a battle that left them impressed by their opponents, to say nothing of the Emperor and the Fantasy Tree.
Blame nasu. Dude made Ritsuka weak as **** , and yet all servants like him for no reason. An average person CAN'T do all that. Why make ritsuka average if he is doing all that shit? Without plot armor ritsuka would be dead in like first singularity.

Inazuma archon quest have a good beginning (not counting the prologue) but it's the later part that fall hard, the main problem is simply pacing, that's the major reason (everything else is just byproduct of not having enough time to tell the story), like act 2 is like 1/4 or 1/3 the size of act 1 and act 3 seem like it cram 2 or 3 act worth of content into 1 with the size roughly equal or abit more than act 1.

Imo, the story of character (some in the beginning is pretty meh) and event are generally better then most of the archon quest (yes, even the hangout), event are lost forever unless they want to redo it (you literally can't explore the golden apple archipelago cause they nuked it along with the story related to it). And those are basically just big side quest, and actual big side (world) quest are mostly better at telling a good story (Tatara tale don't exist).

This however i agree, Xiangling and Mona stories are much more interesting (and ironically made Mona an well fleshed characters outside from being an fa-#slapped)

I'm not thrilled with the Traveler being another self-insert silent protagonist vessel honestly, you can imagine how much I rolled my eyes when seeing Shenhe's about Xiao and Xiao's about Shenhe voiceline just ultimately being about the Traveler.

Technically we do have a certain amount of voiced dialogue from the Traveler as well as cutscenes where they speak but those tend to not show up often. Outside of that, I think that we see a bit of their personality through their dialogue options but that doesn't tend to be much either.

I've caught up on the Enkanomiya main mission, anyone feel the lack of audio in the dialogues sucks?

It's just the deal with World Quests rip, Enjou might be too powerful as a fan favorite if they gave him a good accompanying voice.

Even the Labyrinth Warriors event, which contributed almost nothing to the game's story, included voices in its dialogues.

Uhmmm, i don't know about that, it add to the lore, worldbuild (albeit kinda pointless in the grand scheme of thing) and continue the story by showing how the Fatui react to Scara going rogue, set up a concert event in the future and obviously a direct continuation of the moonlight festival event.

It set up important plot points but in my opinion the stories involving the playable characters are usually kinda bad relative to the stories of NPC

Plot wise it add stuff, but i do agree that it is pretty mid in telling the story, but atleast XinYan got some actual presence, even if most consider her a 1 dimensional character cause of it.

Well the item containing lore as far as i know is only in dark soul or it's the one that popularized it so it isn't strange that Mihoyo took some inspiration from Dark souls shit look pretty damn slow for something that remind me of ringed knight and wraith tho.

Why is dark soul so infamous anyway? Heard it has pretty kickass boss fights.....by kickass i mean it is the ass of the player that is kicked.

One thing i noticed from Ei's voicelines, she kinda outright confirms the Traveler has full-on immortality instead of "likely" Longevity, she says that if the Traveler remembers her, then she will be able to live on for all of eternity.
Zhongli said something similar in his first story quest. The problem here is the question of if the Traveler had their immortality stolen and they’re confident it will be reclaimed or not. The Other Sibling’s existence makes me think they still have it though.
