Well even if you go with that interpretation, it still scales to Van Kleiss, since he absorbed the nanites that caused the mist and he was stated by Rex to be stronger than ever, which would include Van Kleiss Mega.

Well 1) We still seem to have a double standard regarding tier via size so someone should clarify this.
2) Absorbing nanites doesn't make leaves grow on trees or restore a castle. Van Kleiss was clearly absorbing and restoring at the same time and since the nanites from the mist don't go to the castle (presumably the only thing that gets absorbed is the goo), that was a part of the restoration.
