General DC Comics Discussion Thread

Thank you. Feel free to do so then. 🙏❤️

Guys, who's the highest 4-B character in DC? Like, do them all scale to New 52 Superman and Green Lanterns?

Hello.

Since we do not have a general discussion thread for the DC Animated Universe, I suppose that I will have to ask here instead.

Would somebody be willing to create a content revision thread for the DCAU version of Amazo? It seems like he is extremely overdue for an upgrade. 🙏

Huh, I remember that I was the first one (to my knowledge) who originally brought attention to DCAU's Amazo's feats in the JL Infinity comic but I didn't know how to do a proper CRT. I was content with just putting him at 2-A but other people in the thread thought that a 1-C rating was more appropriate. Didn't know that he got downgraded. Though why he got brought back down to 5-B instead of just 2-A is certainly strange

Side note: Is there even a page that shows how to make proper CRTs and revisions and I just couldn't find it? Because it feels like that's something that should exist it they don't already, just general "Here's how to make [CRTs/edits/character profiles/verse pages/etc]" guides. I actually wanted to make a page for Death from Have A Nice Death but had no idea how so I just gave up on it. Thought eventually someone else went and did it themselves and used my Respect Thread to do it which was a nice surprise.

I think that we handled it in the thread linked below. 🙏

I believe someone here was interested in general GL abilities and resistances, here's some resistances I found in post-flashpoint

Existence Erasure (Constructs can protect them from [Green Lantern: The Lost Army #1] creatures that erased matter they touched from existence [Green Lantern: The Lost Army #4])
High Temperatures (Personal shields are able to protect a lantern from extreme heat [Green Lantern Corps: Edge of Oblivion #2])
Radiation (The forcefield surrounding a lantern protects them from harmful radiation [Green Lantern Corps Vol 3 #21])

Where would Kyle with the Life Equation scale, exactly? Actually, why don’t we have a key for him with the Life Equation? It’s a pretty big part of his story, and as of late Ive heard he can call upon it.

Something of possible interest. 🙏

Didn't he affect the Source in his White Lantern form?

It depends on if this is the Post-Flashpoint or Post-Rebirth version of Wonder Woman. 🙏

Here is more information about that:

Anyway, I have been thinking about Warren Ellis' and Mark Millar's old "The Authority" comicbook a bit, and since it is now supposedly a part of regular DC Comics continuity and will play a prominent role in the new DC movieverse, it might be best to mention it here.

I used to agree with the Action Comics #775 interpretation of them, that portrayed them as extremely ruthless, hollow, and callous self-righteous bastardisations of superheroes that should preferably be virtuous ideals to aspire towards.

However, as I have grown older and hopefully more worldwise, I think that The Authority narrative was likely deliberately intended to be built on the following premise:

"Okay, so superheroes have also largely been built up as United States military-industrial complex recruitment propaganda over the years, by portraying the politics and culture of the country in a much more clean and positive manner than warranted by what is actually matter of fact existing in reality. So what would happen if superheroes began to behave as ruthlessly as the United States government, and before that the British Empire, have continuously politically behaved in real life from an international perspective (if you listen to truly extremely well-informed historians such as Jeffrey Sachs and others)?"

If James Gunn, who is heading the DC movie franchise, manages to successfully tap into that theme, I think that it is likely even more relevant in the Trump era than in the Bush era. 🙏

Also, is somebody willing to update Wonder Woman's statistics please? That still seems to need to be done. 🙏
