Elden Ring General Discussion

I did not expect the colosseums to include Spirit Summons, in fact it's shocking to me, probably a way to turn it off. Considering how different and powerful Spirit Summons are from each other, I think there's gonna be a whole new Spirit Summon meta. Does the Tiche summon use the grab attack? Cause if she does I definitely want to summon her.

Having summons is gonna be so ******* fun.

Tbh, I was expecting we were gonna get some new bosses, or simply recycled bosses. Looks like we might not get lore from this update.

Would dragonlord placidusax have immeasurable speed for existing outside of time? Or just time resistance?

They might not have wanted to spoil it. FromSoft trailers usually leave out those bits iirc.

I think that's more a result of the environment he's in than related to being a power. We also go outside of time, but we're clearly effected by time normally.
Oh ok. I also wanted to ask if any character in the game has conceptual manipulation or casualty manipulation.

Idk about conceptual manipulation though maybe you could make an argument for some of the god-tier's, or at least the Greater Will, having a lower degree of it. Gideon has Law of Causality, which basically makes it so that the user gains a protective spell that will activate as a counter-attack in response if they have been attacked enough times. But it's probably the weakest causality manipulation I've ever seen in fiction.

How powerful is the greater will? What tier is he?

We have a very vague idea of the Greater Will's presence in the story to begin with, let alone its power. The only thing we know definitively is that the Greater Will created the Elden Beast, and subsequently, the Elden Ring. According to the Three Finger's, the Greater Will also made life itself, but this is a controversial topic as it's contradicted heavily by the known Crucible lore. The Greater Will is basically treated like the supreme being of the verse. It scales above any other character we know in Elden Ring so far. If we take the star statements literally it could be somewhere within tier 4 at best.

I see.
Last question: is elden ring here treated as stand alone game or part of the dark souls/sekiro/bloodborne lore?

Yeah with what we know so far the Greater Will peaks at 4-A if you take what the Elden Beast does a legit 4-A pocket reality feat.

Pretty sure it's a stand alone game.

Tbh, it's more attack reflection than actual Causalty Manipulation.

Greater will would be At least 7-A, possibly 4-A via upscaling from the Elden Beast.

However could argue it could scale to 6-C, possibly 4-A via being comparable to the Frenzied Flame, who's another outer god afaik, who itself would probably scale to or above the full powered Frenzied Flame Tarnished.

All of the colosseums can be opened it looks like, I just opened the one in Limgrave near Bernahl. I'll go try the one with God outside.

Looks like there's no lore though.

But holy hell the Caelid colosseum is fun. You can have up to 6 people and Spirit Ashe's are usable, it's a free-for-all elims based mode with revives. Whoever has the most kills at the end wins.

Man I gotta try it soon then. Lack of lore sounds a bit disappointing tbh. Though I'm sure some random dude will probably dig up something.

Basically:

Leyndell colosseum is a standard one v. one type deal. You and someone else, no flasks, no spirit summons, etc., one dies, the other wins.

Caelid colosseum is a free-for-all with up to 6 people, Flask's, Spirit Summon's, revive, and time limit, most elims wins.

Limgrave colosseum is team-fights or free-for-alls, United Combat or Combat Ordeal is what they're called. No summons, but healing is fine. Most elims wins.

Love the update. But I can't fathom why they didn't put Site's of Grace in the colosseums? It would be infinitely better. Instead if you want new spells or incant's you need to TP somewhere then run back every time.
