Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 82

Interesting, so Vegeta's learning more about how to control his ki. I've always wondered where the more abstract abilities that people have created with Ki come from. Like Hit's ability to create dimensions and control time. He's a thousand years old so I'm guessing he learned to control his Ki really well.

In short, the translator or the guy who read the manga before it was translated was confused to say that "vegeta would learn a new energy, which would be a plagiarism of" hunter hunter's "nor" and the truth is that the Vegeta , just learned a more advanced form of KI / CHI control.

and spirit is just how yadratseijins refer to Ki / chi.

however, some of the techniques may be really useful, such as multiplication, if it does not have the same weakness as the tienshinhan technique. Gigantification can be useful against giant opponents, or at the very least to scare off some unsuspecting ones.

but none of this helps against moro, the only thing that would help, is that they use the concept of divine Ki, and perfect it to the point where it is impossible for moro to absorb its energies.

So at least in terms of fear from this chapter from piccolo >Telepathy with Multi-Galaxy range >Casually shooting down a space ship after it initialized blast off into space with a single one-handed ki blast. For reference on how fast that ship is, the bandits reached Earth from several galaxies way in just a few days.

Hoping that the whole "control your ki differently to use different abilities" thing brings some versatility for the saiyans and that could make the fights more interesting. It's nice that Vegeta is getting some shine. Merus's backstory better be good though.

Goku isn't the strongest mortal in U7 anymore lol. There's at least 2-3 characters stronger than him
Which wouldn't be a probleme for me if none of them were part of the goddamn galactic patrol, Freezer living that long with Merus being a thing is make no sense, Toyotaro always end up pulling that kind of shit, he'd be excellent if he just stopped that and improved when it come to fight scenes.

Can you imagine if Goku made a clone in a completely different location, charging a Kamehameha, and teleporting it right in front of his opponent?

Sound like the IT kamehameha with extra step TBH.

We don't know exactly when merus joined them.

It doesn't matter when, unless it was litteraly 5 minutes before the start of the arc, the galactic patrol would have long crushed or cowed the Freezer force into submittion instead of living in fear of it since they had a guy who made Freezer look like a joke, even Fukatsu no F Freezer.

everyone in the vegeta Hype in yadrat, and forgot that merus really knows the higher instinct, and that goku still can't hit a (ultra instinct) UI user.

ie that aside from the ultra instinct, goku has not yet surpassed the bilss

Since resureccion of F, it was established that the Freeza forces weren't what they were before, and that they were losing control of their empire. That's why they decided to revive Freeza in the first place.

Also. This new chapter established that Meerus for some unknown reason, tries to hide his power from everyone. So, even if he was in the galactic patrol during the namek arc, he could've decided not to interfiere because he hides his power for some reason that until now is unknown.

To add more. Meerus has a time chamber, so this justifies even more his power and that could explain that maybe he wasn't that strong years ago.

Since Fukatsu no F, we know that Freezer's presence alone would allow a single specific faction of his previous empire to control 70% of the universe, they wouldn't be 'losing control' (to other faction of the empire, not the galactic patrol) if a guy with enough power to make Freezer look like a speck of dust showed up, they'd have submitted to the new guy.

It didn't, it established he was notgoing full power until now, that's all, his consistently displayed power is way more than enough already and everyone around him know it.

No, it doesn't, it doesn't even come anywhere near explaining or justifying his power at any point in time, Kami had a time chamber for his whole tenure as guardian of earth and yet he wasn't ******* UI level.

I doubt thay that the Freeza empire even know what was Freeza's true power. They just knew he was very strong. They have no reason to submit and give up if they never knew Freeza's true power, and therefore, they had hopes.

Exactly. And Meerus asked Goku to do not tell anyone about his true power, which can perfectly explain why he didn't interfiere. The first thing he told Goku after entering in the time chamber is "Now I can unleash my full power without anyone finding out". I don't know it can't be more clear. He doesn't want people to know about his power for some reason that is unknown in this moment.

Yes it does. We can't compare Kami to Meerus. We don't even know if Kami was that interested in training and getting stronger, specially if you see that he barely interfieres in the problems of earth like the Red Ribbon Army or King Piccolo. Also, every Dragon Ball character have different potential, some improve way faster than others (Like Gohan, 17 or Freeza), we can't compare Meerus to Kami because every DB character has different potential, and that was established since beggining of Z with Gohan surpassing Raditz with one year of training in the mountains. I don't know why fans just assume that every character improve at the same speed even though beggining of DBZ changed that forever. In case you didn't notice, this is a verse where every character improve at different speeds, you can't compare Meerus and Kami assuming they have the exactly same potential because that's not how DB works and had never worked.

They obviously knew his basic power level of 530000, it was litteraly measured by scouter, a scouter pointed at Merus would explode and hope woluldn't matter once the guy actualy strike.

His true power doesn't matter, what matter is the power he constently showed to everyone since his first appearence and no, him not going at full power all the time wouldn't explain why the galactic patrol is afraid of the Freezer force when they have him and why the Freezer force didn't outright abdicate to him when they did against a much weaker Freezer.

No it doesn't and yes we can, Kami was litteraly scared about not being able to protect earth for centuries, if just having a time chamber work as an explaination for freaking UI level of power, then you need to explain why he wouldn't use it.

He barely interfer because he doesn't believe he can, he litteraly tried to stop Piccolo himself too.

No, they don't, pretty much anyone can become as strong as they want, it's a question of will and training, that was the whole point of the saiyan saga, the only different thing is where you start, where you end up depend on you, it was a pretty clear message.

Once again, we totaly can because your criteria was 'has a time chamber', not 'is an uber Freezer level' genius (because being an uber Freezer level genius wouldn't explain the whole galactic patrol not taking control of the universe thing, unlike the time chamber barely does.)

Let's wait and see before we start slapping soul manip onto the character's, but I hope that is the case.

And careful, Shadow might hear you ovo jk.

technically speaking, dragon ball souls are much more powerful than physical bodies (compare those with androids) because they do not lose energy (although this may decrease their time on earth).

he remembers the majinboo saga, where goku possessed a body even if it was technically his solidified soul.

it also explains a goku line when he went looking for moro ki, and he explained that his ki was like the laments of his victims

So Ki in Dragon Ball is referred to as spirit? Are we getting soul manipulation right now for Dragon Ball characters?
It's spirit as in 'the mind' which was always defined as a component of ki.

Whoever said they couldn't do that?
