Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

I would prefer if they go forward with more skills and abilities then transformation. I'm tired of seeing more colours changes, even if they go with transformation I would like them to have more body change then just the hair colours.

In my honest perspective, I have a very complicated opinion in regards to Toyotaro as an author.

On the one hand: His art is very great and is pretty damn close to being similar to the original manga, he has a pretty good balance when it comes to fight scenes and is able to make them destructive while having chorography to them, there are moments where he gives us good characterization, and I personally believe that Toyotaro is at his best when he's doing his own arcs and not following stuff from the anime or movies.

But on the other hand: I consider his versions of the U6, Goku Black, and ToP arcs to be worse then the anime version, he's a fan of shifting the goalpost and changing the position that characters are in power wise (I'm referring to Beerus in particular in this regard, introduces concepts to the narrative that I think are either unnecessary or ask questions that I believe weren't needed in the first place, and for every good characterization he has there's an equally as dog shit characterization to counter balance it in a very frustrating matter (I hate how he portrays Goku in the manga, it's some of the worst regression of a preestablished character which I have ever seen).

So usually how I treat Toyotaro is that he is, at best, a good enough author for Dragon Ball. And at worst, he's PAINFULLY mediocre and I have found that are fan authors out there that do a better job then Toyo does. But yeah like I said, very complicated opinion on the guy.
Toyotaro was a fan who hurt Toriyama's successor.

The guy before DB doesn't seem to have had any kind of start or anything.

Generally authors have several one-shots and mangas, or worked as an assistant with famous manga artists for a long period of time before making their own manga. As far as I remember Toyotaro didn't have anything like that (I could be wrong)

His original art and designs are good and really reflect the essence of DB in general.

His comics has improved although I think it's average compared to other current mangas. It's not even fair when comparing his comics with Toriyama because Toriyama is one of the best mangakas in that aspect.

People keep asking me to evaluate their tier 1 threads regardless of if I don't want them too. Also, I can still talk about it (express my opinion on doubting what qualifies), just don't expect me to fully understand it properly or give much in the way of conversation, I'm just not actively going to seek it out and keep my distance.

I'm going to give y'all the silent treatment if y'all make another Tier 1 Dragon Ball thread though. That original one nearly killed me.
Yeah I understand, that thread was such a mess.

So uh, its gonna be interesting how they explain Daima's timeframe and why no one talked about it in Super despite it presumably taking place before end of Z (seems like a repeated pattern, we have so much stuff going on before end of Z)

it just happens after Super, simple enough

Super currently is a year or so before EoZ, Daima can just happen between both
Sure but that’s still kinda confusing. How does this tie into EoZ without feeling inconsistent
where is the information that it is before Super even came from btw?
Just read some speculations online. I don’t fully believe it because if it’s before Super then Shin and Kibito can’t be separate unless the wish did something

How can you say it is inconsistent without knowing how it plays out?

Exactly, Kibitoshin not being a thing shows that it is after Super

sure maybe, but the primary piece of evidence is nigh irrefutable and if it is rejected it'll hinge on incredulous stances not refutation of the statement. Dont worry though the crt will have you in the disagree section before its even posted ;)

which is, again, due to sheer incredulity. Nothing disproves that statement as far as I am aware

btw cell has other statements in the manga as well (such as being able to destroy all celestial bodies in the universe before he knows any teleportation with his alleged hypersonic travel speed so his 4-B rating is actually more contradictory if anything lol) so we're far from short on indirect supporting evidence
At what point is it stated that Cell can destroy all the celestial bodies in the universe?

That won't get you anything. It would only increase the 2-C scale(I even doubt that), but it would not give you 1-C Low. For that HTC would have to size difference with Realms.
Ugh what?

HTC has its own separate time dimension and it's contained within U7 which has its own time axis as well

Should HTC become significantly sized (aka universal) it's time axis would be tierable and U7 would have 2 time dimensions
