Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

Honestly, I still don't fully understand what they did, Beerus also commented on Whis being able to end up creating another parallel world.

But in the manga we clearly see the destruction of a time ring when Zeno ends everything.

Furthermore, each timeline would kind of have its own silver ring (original time ring) and green rings (alternative timelines created from them)

For example, the timeline that Zamasu became Black. In that timeline there was practically everything we know, even the tournament from universe 6 and 7, probably that black timeline has a green ring which is the trunks timeline of the future that was generated from the timeline from black.

That's why black wears a silver ring and not a green one.

The very timeline we follow is a parallel timeline, and in that timeline there is a silver and green ring.

In short.

Each timeline has its silver ring, which represents the timeline. If this timeline changes in the past, a green ring will be made, which represents an alternative timeline that was made because of this change.

But within this alternative timeline, there is a silver ring that represents this timeline, as well as green rings that were created by someone altering the past of this alternative timeline from another timeline.
Basically I think it works like this.

The reason why I think each alternate timeline has a silver time ring (which represents that same alternate timeline) and possibly green rings (in case someone from that alternate timeline alters its past, creating new timelines )

It's because the very timeline that we follow throughout the manga is an alternative timeline, which was created by time travel.

If someone understands differently, just speak up.

This image is an example and not a map of DB timelines made by the various future trunks

Goku Black's world is the original world of the present; our current present is branched off of Goku Black's world, due to Future Trunks travelling to the past to warn the Z-Fighters, resulting in Beerus erasing Zamasu and creating a temporal paradox.

And, in the manga, Future Trunks's world is represented by a green Time Ring, despite the fact that Trunks created their world. As if the Time Rings represented the entirety of parallel worlds.

The complicated issue is that we don't know we are an alternate timeline until the moment of time travel that turns us into one.

For example, before the Black saga, we would probably think that we are the first timeline to have events from Universe 6 and 7, but no, before ours existed there was another one, which is Black's.

The timeline we follow is basically derived from various branches of previous time travel.

Is the issue of the trunk world of the future being represented by a green ring, strange?

If you go back in time, you make green rings that represent parallel worlds from x world.

How is the trunk line of the future a green ring? Someone would have to have traveled in time to be able to create the trunks timeline of the future.

It cannot have been a parallel world made from ours. Since in the timeline we follow, there would not even be a way to create these future trunks.

Our Future Trunks's timeline is not the original, the original one is where Trunks is killed by Cell. Timelines are created at the exact point where history was changed, so Trunks likely created his timeline when he killed Cell, since the opposite was supposed to happen in the original one

Honestly with the way they present it my interpretation is that there's no "original" just people jumping across timelines

canon Dragon Ball runs on Many Worlds theory so there is a parallel world for every possibility. All of the movies are considered parallel worlds by Toriyama, GT is accepted as a parallel world, even the Toei anime is a parallel world. There are virtually infinite timelines that exist naturally.

Traveling to the past artificially creates new timelines which is considered an issue because it can apparently cause something bad for time itself. So in that sense, the 'original' timeline that Cell comes from is just another parallel world, that naturally exists.

Someone might bring up time rings but Gowasu specifies that traveling to the past was considered impossible until a mortal from U12 made a time machine. The Time Rings are specifically for parallel worlds made via changing the past.

And he defeated them. The major difference was his death because it was supposed to happen, but the androids would be defeated anyway
The fact that he defeated them differently and presumably at a later date because in the past the "original" Future Trunks returned from, the Cell Games proceeded without a Trunks, is major enough to warrant a split.

That split already happened when Trunks decided to stay in the past when he discovered Cell's time machine

So will there be upgrades regarding 1-C update?
If you want to upgrade the range of those with time rings and the trunks time machine to Low 1-C. Since the two can move through alternative timelines.

Feel free.

Just wait for the IZ crt to finish.

Because there is a problem between 5D and interdimensional range.

I thought they were for viewing the future...
Yes. The Time Rings were created by changes to the past, resulting in parallel worlds that shouldn't exist. Gowasu even explicitly states that it's strictly prohibited to go to the past and that Time Rings can only take you to the future and present of that ring's timeline.

A Time Ring (silver) exists for the hypertimeline -> U12 Mortals create a time machine -> Changing the past spawns a new world that shouldn't exist -> Now parallel worlds have multiple time rings (green)

Why can one timeline have multiple time rings from time travel but not other parallel worlds? Probably because the timelines are related. Those other parallel worlds come from rewriting history and result in other worlds being made via more time travel. So they're like a family of timelines. Think of it as like Cell's world is the father of Trunks' and Goku's worlds.

Simplest way I can summarise it is: time rings are bastard children from one night stands.

A Time Ring (silver) exists for the hypertimeline -> U12 Mortals create a time machine -> Changing the past spawns a new world that shouldn't exist -> Now parallel worlds have multiple time rings (green)
And don't forget that these parallel worlds each have their own silver ring, but they can also have green rings, if someone from that alternative timeline changes the past.

Honestly I think the "If Goku fights xy or z it will be a cuss-storm" is overhyped now.

I think everyone is afraid of DB upgrades because people are afraid of "Goku vs Living Tribunal" match ups being created and there being complete utter vile on 20 pages.

After this last upgrade and even the match ups that came out of it I think VSBW Dragon Ball is overhyped as hell. Like it really shouldn't be such a shock that Xeno Goku is 5D and yet its creating such controversy that someone made a youtube video about it and theres threats of some randoms from Indonesia of all places going to make CRTs

At the same time people getting upset that other verses are getting upgraded that "compete" with DB is ridiculous, yes is Sonic vs Goku a fun match up? ofc but that doesn't mean I have pray for their downfall when they go to 7-8D good for them [internal seething]

If Goku ends up 1-A, as long as its vaild im here for it

If Goku goes back to 3-A for actual valid reasons then it is what it is

"Goku vs Living Tribunal" (and I'm assuming this is not an avatar even then still a no)

Lol to that ever being actually fair
