Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

But official doesn't mean lore compliant. Business generally care about profits more than Canon at the end of the day, as long as it doesn't hurt the brand. Especially regional branches of companies that may or may not have constant communication with the people who actually know the Canon.
I don't think this one really hurts canon though. We know the world of void lacked those stuff. This just says it lacked even the concept of them which really makes no difference in the events that took place in the series. A major change for example would be that Goku was knocked out of Ultra Instict via a ki blast or something which was never shown.Stuff that would contradict an event that has taken place in the primary material would be deemed invalid, because they go against the established canon, but this is more another way to say the events than anything less.

This is more like a difference of a character shooting stuff that look like lighting but never specified to be and a licensed material comes out that specifies it as lighting. It helps clear up doubts without changing anything fundamental. But in the end of they day I will not fight that much over it. Just that it technically doesn't contradict the canon in some way.

That a leap in logic, he never did such a thing, so we will not considering he capable of doing it
Also the reason you would want to add it is because this wiki is firstly focused on indexing and vs battling as a sidehobby. A character having an ability and it not being listed is bad. At least as far as I know the primary thing is the completion of profiles and less how it would go in a match.

considering it's from Latin America, the company must care. Since DB is huge here. But it probably won't be used since it's an encyclopedia/sticker album. Unless someone gets a 20 on persuasion.

This feels like I'm going a bit too hard on a Doylist approach here, you understand my thoughts and where I come from. So anything more will be decided in an actual thread, where others can way in on our arguments.
Doylist? Also yeah I absolutely do. It does make sense. I don't plan to make a thead personally. Someone else might want to do it though. I just don't think it goes against established canon.

Sure, but i not gonna try to add a power by going too hard to the point messege........eh.......people like what you guys planning to do, but eh..... whatever

This is official and canon

DRAGON BALL Super Broly Anime Comic

In this type of thing, it tells a much more detailed story of Brolly in the form of an anime manga, with Akira Toriyama responding all questions.

It costs 300R$ here in Brazil

Nah it's not right to message people I agree with that. If someone wants to they can make a thread and list this as proof and see how it goes, but yeah we shouldn't contact a whole ass company for that.

Doylist, named after Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; author of Sherlock Holmes, is an approach the fiction that looks at it as a piece of fiction and how the real world influenced its creation, generally by looking at it as a creation of an author or buisness than characters in a world.

Basically if a work can be taken as an extension of the author's mind rather than just something independent?

Yes. Say because of budget cuts a character can't appear anymore, they might have a in story reason why he's gone, but the budget would be the Doylist reason, or the author reacting to fans liking a situation so they alter the story to try and replicate that success, or as you are probably more familiar with PIS; the author choosing to tell a story over a character's traits remaining consistent.

I mean I can see that and in some ways it's based more on what the author wants. Of course any fictional work has a little of the author's ideas of the way the world operates as he basically creates the world the story takes place, but whether they change stuff or tell a consistent story is based on their personality I feel. Though that would also fall on what you are saying that the way an author behaves changes the story.

Nah, already sent it
