Still doing backstory poll but I also wanted to try something else (Pick real historical/mythological figures)
Rules:
1 - Each person gets one representative on either side
2 - It can't be a character already in the official Record of Ragnarok list (Humans fighters also can't be audience members that were shown)
3 - Human fighter has to be dead, obviously
4 - No Hitler or any Nazis to represent Germany/Prussia (Stop being edgy and be creative, Germany has a lot of History)
5 - You don't need to, but are allowed to come up with abilities/weapons for the fighters you pick
6 - Abrahamic pantheon includes angels and demons
7 - Any time period is fine
8 - Human fighters don't have to be warriors, but they do have to someone that's somewhat notable
9 - Fighters have to male since this is Record of Ragnarok (No women allowed, they can only be attack names)
10 - Y'all get to vote on the match-ups later on (Try and pick based off a theme)

Has Maui been suggested for the Polynesian God?

Finally, Luber.
What a wuber luber dub dub

Well I thought it was an Artoria Pendragon sweep if we use dimension scaling / FGO Artoria and Luke Skywalker sweep if it is just the FSN Saber vs EC Luke.

(From what I saw beside Rengoku v Todo)
Galacta Knight (Kirby)
Vergil (DMC)
Spider-Gwen
Frieren
Garnet (Steven Universe)
Charlie (Hazbin Hotel)
Green/yellow? lantern

So it's really close when it comes to dimensional tiering shit huh

Also
Vergil vs Galacta Knight?
Todo vs Rengoku?
So Vergil vs Galacta Knight and Todo vs Rengoku are locked in.
We still have...
  • Spider-Gwen
  • Frieren
  • Garnet (Steven Universe)
  • Charlie (Hazbin Hotel)
  • Green/yellow? lantern
5 combatants there and we expect at least 3 (at most 5) matchups out there aside from the confirmed two.

So are you blaming all of this to Sam Raimi?
Soda already clarified it, but I will say that I don't blame Sam Raimi for how bad MoM turned out to be. In fact, as I stated in my comment, the horror moments of the movie were the best part since I believe that Sam had more creative freedom in those scenes and I would be biased if I didn't say that I do respect that they tried dabbling into horror in the MCU.

But you can only do so much as a director when you're given an ass gravy tier script by a guy who's only notable credentials are one episode of Rick and Morty and Season One and Two of Loki. So I don't think Sam's at fault for MoM being bad, it's Marvel and the guy who wrote the script which made it suck.

Actually this does make me want to ask a question: To anyone who stopped, or has recently decided to stop, watching the MCU, what was the movie or show which made you say "Yeah I'm done with the MCU, this shit sucks now"?

To me, that title firmly goes to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, not only the worst MCU movie I've ever seen but also one of the worst movies of all time...not even kidding, it's unironic trash. It's genuinely hard for me to properly word how much I HATE this movie with every fiber being, but one way I can describe my feelings is that it feels like a movie where the only reason why everything happens and why there's any conflict to begin with is because everyone's a dumbass. And the scene which reinforces that view point to me is one where Strange, that Chavez chick, and some other chick are running away from Wanda and they imagine to separate from her after a steel door closes right in front of her. Now you would think that they would use that chance to get away from Wanda before she catches up to them, but no they stand for a few seconds just so the movie can jump scare us when Wanda suddenly appears right in front of the camera.

So overall, even if it did have some admittedly cool horror moments thanks to Sam Raimi, Multiverse of Madness was what killed my love for the MCU and I will always consider it as being one of the reasons why it's been on a steady decay since No Way Home.
Love and Thunder.

I'll watch anything Daredevil or Spider-Man, but on my own time when I feel like it. I don't really care about keeping up to date on MCU events.

GotG 3: The best MCU film. Gunn is a genius, and this is another addition to his great roster of films. The Guardians interactions between themselves ranged from funny to emotional, Peter and Gamora reconciling despite not getting back together was bittersweet and quite real. The film made me sob a few times, from Rocket's condition and backstory, to the ending with "The Dog Days are Over" playing and Quill finally meeting his pops. ****, that hit hard for me. This is honestly the MCU at its peak, and I'm glad it continued after Endgame so that this film could see the light of day.
Gunn never misses with movies or music

So after watching the cast and going by Liam's own words.

Joker
Uni-Multi
MFTL-Immersuable
Almighty attacks can bypass the Omnipotent Orb an item that warps reality to defend the user
He also mentioned SMT though he didn't go into detail
Should I honestly be glad Death Battle starts to flip into the cosmology page of Shin Megami Tensei and our other profiles (and the sources we claim to reference from and based on)?

It's Giornover bros and sisses

It is important Sam Mitchell points out the elephant in the room: how many Persona characters can fight in the "real world" with their whatever the attack potency ceilings are in the Metaverse?

Almost certainly bait, but it can be depressing talking with someone and realizing they really do think like this.

They have no passion for what they powerscale, not even ironic enjoymemt or morbid curiosity. I've talked to people who just list feats when they talk about their favorite character. Or it's just: "He's SO strong! He could beat [insert character here]"

I just...Don't get that. I gotta like something, or at least find something interesting, in some way, to scale or debate or even talk about it. People who are here JUST for the stats I can't wrap my head around...
