Concerning that, elsewhere I've seen talks on DB views been getting lower. And could it really be just that most big ones are done?

And sure, even getting 1 mil+ consistently in a month is good, but DB seriously tanked after Venom vs Crona. Did a single episode delay make algorithm hate DB that bad? The match ups after it didn't help, but if Hulk vs Broly did massive numbers, how many good episodes like that are left?

Anyways, I do have a good idea for who Mask should fight, if he returns.

Tricky vs The Mask
(Madness Combat vs Dark Horse Comics)​
  • Both are green headed, big teethed, mass murdering madmen who wear masks.​
  • Both have an object that causes chaotic things to happen (Tricky's Portable Improbability Drive and Mask's... well... Mask)​
  • Both are also known for being comedic (Or at least are associated with comedy), Tricky being a clown and Mask having powers associated with the likes of Bugs Bunny​
  • Both are also also known for a unique way of talking, Tricky's text glitching onto the screen (Albeit it's not that different from the way characters in Madness talk normally when they do), while The Mask has a unique font​
Probably Tricky's best matchup, too. Might be fair if you calc the KE of Auditor's feat.

Id (Xenogears) vs Kazuya (Tekken)

Demon-form based main characters (or related to the main character) whose bread and butter is CQC and martial arts.

I mean, I'm on a Xeno binge, and I seem to recall contenders for Kazuya being discussed a while back, so here's mine ig. I've never actually played Tekken, but I know bits of background info.

EDIT: they also have dead mothers (at least, Fei does, with Id being a separate personality of his) with alternating parents that treat them like shit (see Heihachi).

I feel like something underused in the Death Battle is pure Army vs Army fights. Last one I can think of is Maybe Ultron vs Sigma but the various Mavericks didn’t exactly factor into the fight much. It’s probably a bit heavy on the budget though

I guess if I had some suggestions in that category it be Dr. Wily vs Dr. Eggman Rematch and The Daleks (Doctor Who) Vs The Borg (Star Trek)

Flood vs Tyranids vs Zerg, like have one of the 3 fight one of the other 3. Also Covenant vs Locust or some other faction matchup
I’ve heard one matchup for the Reapers from Mass effect but forgot it

maybe some of these could work, but I’m not sure if it’s requested enough or enough people like it

I would add Lich King VS Sauron (Warcraft VS The Lord of the Rings) as well.

We can have Mordor fight the The Scourge, for then have their leaders fight in a one to one match.

With more thought, I kinda feel the same way about Pokemon vs Digimon fights. With the exception of Mewtwo vs BlackWarGreymon (an episode I mostly want so Mewtwo can have a good episode more than anything), no other Pokemon vs Digimon matchups really do anything for me.

Also, I heard that that's apparently a Mewtwo W now? Is that true? If it is, when did that happen?

Probably the Universal scaling for M2 while normal BlkWargreymon lost it.

I think anime version BlkWarg high end still wins and frankly M2 Uni scaling is... an opinion certainly.
 
Even if you're not on board with Zygarde related scaling for Mega Mewtwo, the backup speed feats for even Base make it look kinda brutal blitz wise.

No idea what hax options Mewtwo has for dura neg if BlackWar is scaled higher though (My memory of Digimon is foggy and every time I read a Digimon page I question if it was even the same show I watched as a kid)
 
Its also technically weird because real BlkWargrey was no connections, its just the anime ver. But that's the most popular one so I guess it wouldn't matter.

Necrozma thing isn't the worst thing but it caused a massive retroactive scaling chain buff that's absolutely ridiculous. Not necessarily wrong, just wild.

As can be seen by the way I decided to lay this out, I've decided to give 4 of the verses corners (Gears/Saga/XC1/XC2) 5 different matchups to play with, in release order. Feel free to ask questions about matchups I haven't already posted about (all of two of them, if you know me).

In fact, make that a fun thing for the moment: making a season comprised exclusively of matchups where at least one combatant is from the same shared multiverse or named preflix.

Can someone explain the connections of Gunvolt vs Zeke to me again?

Also I could probably do what you did but for "Gun" series. Anyone wanna show me some verses other than Gunvolt to use for that?

Electric users with a second partner (Lumen/Pandoria). Amalthus and Asimov also act as group leaders turned evil, but ultimately saved the characters in question with their technology, only to expose themselves of their dirty laundry (both being corrupt and power hungry, looking to monopolise that same technology in some way).

Honestly imo Lich King (Arthas specifically) vs Archaon the Everchosen is a much more thematic match up and they play off of each other way better,

-Both are former paladins turned to towards the side of the very evil that they had sworn to purge from the world through said evil force's manipulations
-Both initially took on their darker, evil deeds in a method of fighting fire with fire, leading them towards darker sources of power until it was too late
-Both after becoming their true selves eventually betrayed and defeated the initial evil force that manipulated them in the first place (Mal'Ganis/Bel'akor)
-Both before on their path to becoming all powerful went on a world spanning adventure (Arthas chasing Mal'Ganis/ Archaon seeking the six treasures)
-Both are taking up the title from another, in a line of dark lords (Ner'zhul/the other Everchosen)
-Both are master combatants and powerful magic users, specifically mostly using a corrupt and evil form of magic (Necromancy/Chaos Sorcery)
-Both have a evil sentient magic swords that devour souls and corrupt their wielders.
-Both initially gained their powers from a higher source (Ner'zhul/Chaos Gods)
-Both are associated with rival elements (ice and fire)
-Both wear a "Helm/Crown of Domination" that is the symbol and source of most of their powers
-Both are first and foremost tacticians, masterminds dozens of crazy strategies to destroy their enemies, usually even starting subtly with disease and sabotage.
-Both utilize powerful plagues
-Both are aided by cults that worship them and seek to undermine their enemies from within
-Both can summon aid (Undead and Daemons)
-Both can manipulate the minds of others
-Both have a steed or monster companion to aid in their conquests (Invincible and Sindragossa vs Dorghar)
-Both wear nearly indestructible suits of armour forged by demons/daemons
-Both desire nothing but to destroy the world and are the enemies of order
-Both lead virtually inexhaustible legions that have the potential to flood over all other factions if uncontrolled.
-Both armies are composed of not only a vast variety of infantry, but a veritable menagerie of grotesque monsters, flying beasts, giants and siege weaponry.
-Both of their headquarters are the northern most continent of their respective worlds.
-Both factions leave behind a form of corruption that despoils the lands they travel while further aiding their forces.
-Both are the viscious enemies of a holy divine force (the Light/Sigmar)
-Both had their swords destroyed by said holy divine force
-This would also all tie into the old Warcraft vs Warhammer debates of old too.

These are just the ones that come off the top of my head.

You know what, you made me change my mind, i'm wctually intrigued with your alternative for the Lich King.

And an Army Fight may be more archivable as SA can use the assets from Total War Warhammer and WoW for the models.

And i guess this will then leave Sauron with Voldemort instead, which can still be a good fight.

Couldn't agree more, more chances for some solid dialogue between the two as well, since both the Lich King and Archaon are fairly boastful/monologuey, and have skills that play better with each other in animation potential (sword fight, magic vs magic, and such)
