Finished the book! It was great, probably my favorite in the series.

Yep same, I was not disappointed.

The book really gave everyone their moment to shine but I personally loved the development of Ziel and Mercy.

Ziel killing the weeping dragon and telling "I killed you!" "Me" is probably one of my favorite moments in the series

So what are your thoughts on how to go about scaling cause this book has a lot of feats

On the Abidan side we have stuff like

• Eithan shaking all of creation/ the entirety of the Way by simply calling his Scythe
• The Weeping Dragons Breath attack which I did a quick calc for it (I used the sacred valley script formation as it's circumference this time since it makes more sense)
• Lindon Fighting a Class 2 Fiend by EOS
• The Dreadgod Weapons or Yerins Reaper Slash

Finished chapter 2 of book one and I gotta say. Lindon’s family kinda sucks

Damm, homie got his shot stolen and his jaw broken on the first day of school. Not a good start to his journey

Finished the first book, not bad but not anything amazing. Definitely felt like it was setting up a lot that’s to come later

I can definitely see that. Many people I’ve talked to agree that the series has an overall slow start. It starts ramping up pretty quickly in my opinion. The second book introduces one of my favorite characters so that was where I got really into it.

I’m like half way through the book and I gotta say eithan is probably my favorite character followed by yerin and lindon(who I like equally)

Remember when I said one of my favorite characters was introduced in book 2? That's Eithan. He's so good and plays off of everyone else so well.

Finished book 2, I liked how it felt like lindon was finally making some progress but still had a long way to go. Eithan is also one twisted bastard setting lindon up like that

Next book is blackflame so kinda and from there it gets more ramped up

I always forget that Lindon isn't able to hold his own in a proper fight till like skysworn

Like by blackflame he technically can but he's never facing opponents on his level just people who way outscale him

Yeah, pre Blackflame he was just outgunned and he didn’t really have any skills to use besides empty palm. From here on he gets a skillset and is more comparable to some of the people he fights.

Finished book 3, definitely an interesting conclusion to this arc. Also was not expecting lindon’s flames to be that strong

finished book 4, first book that lindon didn’t advance(and lost an arm) though it was satisfying to see lindon crush that shield guy ion accident. Definitely interested to learn more about these dreadgods

Oh yeah I remember that scene with the shield guy. That was awesome. I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of Ghostwater now. It’s one of favorites in the series.

A potential Cradle Animated project is to come in the following year



What we know so far

• A Kickstarter will be launched on January 15th 2024.
• There may…or may not…be a novel as a stretch goal.
• Jay Oliva approached Hidden Gnome Publishing, not the other way around. He's a fan
• Will is hoping on enough to animate Unsouled and ambitiously hoping for Soulsmight & Blackflame
• The kickstarter will have less geographical restrictions than the book ones.
• Getting streaming platforms on board is not out of the question.
• They plan on being very transparent about how the money will be used.
• Hidden Gnomes has been approached many times to sell the rights or partner on an animation. None were deemed as serious/competent/tenured as Jay Oliva.
• They want to retain all creative control.

Finished ghostwater and it was pretty good. Lindon didn’t need to get carried. Mercy and dross were fun. Ziel was interesting. And the northstrider was pretty funny at the end

Probably one of my favorite fights in the series so far, with the Harmony fight ranking higher

Nice. The Ekeri fight served as a nice culmination of everything Lindon learned so far and the Harmony fight was great as an introduction to what Dross can do.

I know lindon has always been described as a tall dude with a good build but I definitely wasn’t expecting him to look like that.

One thing I'd love to see from the character sheet is the fact that his resting face perpetually looks angry

One thing I didn't expect were Li Markuths wings, I always imagined them like angel winds and him looking kinda like zebra colored sephiroth

Ditto, there’s also suriel who looks like an alien. I kinda imagined her to kinda look like a doll with how perfect she was described to look.
