As baseline he gets one-shot by anyone in the tourney, and as such doesn't follow rule 3, even then he's a bit of a haxlord.

Basically he do the quif math so that the car falling from the top of the building would fall onto the bridge, causing him to springboard upward due to the car weight which will lift him up high enough to punch the giant mech that was chasing him.

Amp himself and extend his sword while using his information analysis to adapt on the spot with word magic.
His word magic has huge weaknesses that make most of the hax not really matter in a real fight, at least in this key. Basically, for things like sleep manipulation and the possible death/mind manipulation, he has to write the words out and launch them at an opponent, and unless the opponent is a statue or he really manages to catch them off guard with it, they aren't going to be hit by it. As those words, being more powerful, are tremendously slow in comparison to him. He could only even hit an opponent with sleep while they were fighting two other people and he went invisible before hitting them with an extremely slow sneak attack iirc.
