Are editor notes on manga chapter covers canon?

So, there's a certain thing that has been bothering me lately. A lot of manga series have editor notes on the chapter covers, which usually just mention random stuff.

However, sometimes there is some relevant info there, which could be used for scaling purposes.

My question is whether or not these notes can be considered canon, given how the official chapter release removes these notes.

The main canon for manga is the collected volume version of it. If they aren't included in that then it's at best secondary evidence or just non-canon.

I'm in favour of plain old "non-canon" for things like that.

Why wouldnt it be canon though? It is written by the editors of the manga, who usually work on the manga alongside the author.

Doesn't really mean anything. They're not the authors, and the notes don't get put into the final version of the manga.

Editors work on the manga alongside the author though. And if the notes are placed there in the first place, that implies that whatever they mention is what the manga is trying to portray, no?

It's usually only what the editors thinks is the case.

It has no actual bearing in canon unless it is something written by the author themselves and included in the final volumes.
