Twenty-fourth round of the 7-A brackets begins! Winner of the last round was Nonon.

Since it seems like the Servant CRT discussion looks about wrapped up and just needs implementation, I'll post this match. To sum it up, it was concluded that the resistances came from a general resistance to magic/magecraft in general. That said it shouldn't effect this match too much since Cobra can negate magical resistances.

Combatants for this round are Cobra (Erik), submitted by DragonEmporer23, and False Berserker, submitted by AnonymousBlank.

Cobra in X792 (Third Key) is used. False Berserker starts with From Hell active. Speed is equal, battle takes place in a populated Snowfield, USA during the day.

False Berserker is 385 MT via scaling to that, and Cobra scales to 578 Megatons via scaling to that.

False Berserker - 4 (Iapitus, Fate, Overlord, Apies)

Cobra (Erik) - 4 (Dragon, Cal, Jack, Schnee)

Alright, so this time Erik is up against 200 demons. The number seems to be the hard part about it since they're not exactly stronger than him to start off with and don't really have any particular hax. While he is up against 200 enemies that will only get stronger as the match goes on, he has a couple of abilities that let him secure the victory in my opinion. First, there's his ability to read their minds and know how they're going to attack. I'm not sure how the fact that they have a loose grip on sanity effects their mind so it's possible that they're just going to be running on instinct. However, Cobra can still dodge attacks without directly reading the opponent's mind as he dodged Natsu's random attacks by hearing his movements. That and his sound wall/palm let Cobra stay relatively unscathed from the attacks of demons. His poison dragon slayer magic is what lets him be on the offensive while the other abilities keep him from getting overwhelmed. His large AOE and poison would let him engulf several demons in poison at a time, slowing them down and then paralysing them. My argument is that Cobra can poison and paralyse the demons while dodging their attacks before they can outmuscle him.
Roar
Example of AOE

Cobra's too strong for them to overwhelm him that easily, so he can take a ton of attacks from them. Which along with the AoE and the mind reading just lets him continuously destroy the duplicates en masse until he wins.

How does his magical resistance negation work? Would it let him bypass a Servant's basic resistances to magical effects?

@Cal if it only applies to dragons, wouldn't that not work on Berserker, though?

Cobra - 2 (Dragon, Cal)

Berserker -

Big oof on that, then.

Cobra - 3 (Dragon, Cal, Jack)

Berserker -

You can count your own vote, dude. As the deciding is random, you both are and aren't the OP.

Question though. Obviously Berserker has magic resistance but did he get poison resistance? Because while Cobra can bypass resistance to magic, he can't bypass resistance to poison.

@Cal Servants have resisted magical poisons through their resistance to magic, but not that many servants have explicit poison resistances (The only one I can think of is Arash).

I'd rather not count my own vote just to make sure there isn't any hostility on the more controversial matches, thanks though.

Cobra - 4 (Dragon, Cal, Jack, Schnee)

Berserker -

Going from previous threads however, Berserker can freely fly and amp itself out of fear, though.

I may be remembering wrong but Cobra does need Cube to be flying around and I'm not sure if he would be able to be following a mess of 200 minds coming at him at once either.

I might rather wait to hear what Iapitus can have to say about this for the timebeing.

Point in question: If Cobra gets somehow dropped out of Cuberios or Cuberios gets ganged up (which sort of is something I could see happening given the numbers he's dealing with here), the tides of this thing could change.

Being able to negate the resistance that dragons have to magic.
That's what I thought.

In which case it's not helpful against Berserker, it's against dragons only. Hence the dragon slayer magic

SBA dictates that it is the time of day that is most opportune right? In that case, the prediction of attacks by mind reading will only help on follow up attacks, but Berserker is almost guaranteed to land the first few hits. His presence erasure should be enough to keep his thoughts out of Erik's head. He should also definitely be able to turn into people who resist poison to get rid of it for a short time. I think that a few hundred "free" hits on top of the follow up ones in mass should be enough to take victory. For these reasons, I vote for Berserker Jack

But they can throw beams as well and Erik doesn't spam Sound Wave all the time.

That's what I'm talking about. Pretty sure Cuberios isn't lasting as long as Cobra in this match and the idea that he can keep his snek safe for the entire match while simultaneously fending off literal hundreds of enemies (who are growing stronger as the match goes on) and also keep up with the mess of all those minds to intercept them all or know at all times where their attacks are coming from isn't something I see happening.

The main problem here is that in this "war of attrition" scenario Cuberios is definitely the first to go down at which point Cobra perma-loses his ability to fly which is DEFINITELY something he needs here to ensure he isn't falling to the matter of his opponents growing ever stronger from the fear this match induces and thus eventually closing the gap enough to overwhelm him.

" But they can throw beams as well and Erik doesn't spam Sound Wave all the time. "

That's what the mind reading is for. He doesn't fight 200 demons at once all the time either.

Cobra has no feats of keeping up with hundreds of enemies via his mind reading, though. I'm not even sure if he has kept up with multiple people, let's say half a dozen or anything. You can only make sense and keep up with so much thoughts going on at once.

I mean, even if I could read minds to predict attacks, dodging projectiles from 200 flying targets seems like a tall order.

That said the poison should help thin Berserker's numbers, so I'm on the fence on this, assuming the poison can get past a a servant's basic magical resistances.

Reading minds only helps on consecutive attempts. His presence erasure makes it so mind rading won't help on first attempts

And since speed is equal even if he reads this and that he has to choose to what he will be reacting to. Right after he does something there may be already like 10 to 20 other Berserkers out of nowhere doing something else as well, throwing more beams ganging up on Cuberios because they'll totally notice he needs it to fly and such.

One of Berserker's weaknesses is that he is almost insane, does he have the mental capacity to make moves like erasing his presence and turning into people that resist poison while demonized? Also, turning into people who resist poison would be a waste of bodies because then the tier difference means Cobra oneshots.

>almost insane

That doesn't really make sense. Flatt and Berseker had an entire discussion regarding how he wasn't insane despite being in the berserker class, where it was concluded that the Mad Enchantment had little to no effect because Jack is naturally insane. Think double negative.

His insanity is low grade, and he fights more like an assassin instead of a berserker.

I mean if they survive he can use the transformation to deal with lasting effects

Eh, count me for Jack on this one.

Cuberios should be down much before the 200 bodies are gone, at which point Cobra loses his ability to fly and can be either beam-spammed from above or kept enough at bay for fear amps to keep making the multiple Berserkers ever stronger until it's enough for them to overwhelm with their many numbers + free flight + amps.

Yeah, but it's not like they're going to start off with him being surrounded. When the match starts, there's going to be a bunch of demons in a single direction where Cobra can take advantage of his AOE to land some poison.

Weaknesses: The number of bodies Berserker is able to maintain drops with their individual strength. Berserker's hold on their sanity is precariously thin at times.

If this information is wrong, then just ignore that part of what I've said.

He can spawn in a general area, and if it is night then he isn't gonna percieve him.

They as in the poison resistant people? I don't think there was anyone with poison resistance that Jack the Ripper was thought of being but even in that scenario, they would to stay as that person for them to be resistant to the poison. Cobra would just double tap from there and end them, especially if a bunch of them did that.

Should I change it to day to make this less complicated?

Cobra - 4 (Dragon, Cal, Jack, Schnee)

Berserker - 2 (Iapitus, Fate)
