In this match, Nightmare (Soul Calibur) (nominated by The man with the Midas touch) will fight The Protege (nominated by KieranH10).

This is Night Terror, and Protege is at his base.

Who wins?

Nightmare: 5 (Nicetoderp, KieranH10, Genericstickman, Stillwinston, XSOULOFCINDERX)

Protege:

Inconclusive:

that's why i'm asking what nightmare opens with, there's a chance that Protege could take it.

If nightmare scales to Jupiter's GBE (As the 5-A seemingly implies on his profile), he has about 5x Protege's AP too. Considering Protege doesn't resist any kind of bfr or soul manip it's looking pretty one sided. Not voting yet but it's not looking good for Protege.

He's got his own BFR, transmutation to an unknown extent, Thermal blasts use radiation which Nightmare doesn't resist, and can use solid light for attacks but any of his basic ap attacks aren't going to do anything really. so he'd have to rely on moving Nightmare to another planet, or probably thermal blasts.

Does Nightmare have to get close for BFR? Because Protege just sorta looks at them and they're teleported away.

Going off his profile it seems Nightmare's range is planetary or at least tens of kilometres. Radiation might put Night Terror down but Inferno will need to be dealt with too (I assume nuking will do it but don't quote me on that.)

I have no clue what Transmutation would do, I wanna say it can win but Inferno I think is also present in this key so he might jump out to play but as it stands it kinda looks like Night Terror just yeets

Inferno have lower AP for sure, but soul manip could hurt Protege perhaps.

Well, I will vote to Nightmare due to reason above.

Unfortunately we have to go by the profiles how they currently are, you can make a CRT if you think he should have higher dura.

As it stands Night Terror just goes BFR into Astral Chaos soon as the fight starts, Protege would need at least planet level resist in order to survive sadly >_>

^Well Protege has those, Large Planet level (Copied physical power comparable to a skrull that could use The Thing's power). After he's survives that attack he copy's his stats

and increases Night Terror power via Power Modification.

IC, that said still gonna have to deal with Night Terror and Astral Chaos passives. Corruption of Mind, Body and Soul all at once. Soul destruction etc, speed of which is both instant and gradual. My vote still stands Protege is told to Watch This and even if they survive they become malfested cause Type 2 Madness Manip is a thing.

Oh dang forgot this one

So Protégé is gonna need at least planet level soul hax resist, not to mention the above methods of corruption which include mind and body so even he isn't succd right away he can still turn into a malfested both instantly and gradually

Not sure Type 1 Immortality is gonna cover that, plus Night Terror rocks better AP as well it seems. How does Protégé incon here exactly? Cause as it stands I still say Night Terro says Watch This!

Alright then, sooo does he resist soul hax? Or is there abilities for him to circumvent that? Since I do not know much about Marvel, how does his immortality work exactly?

As far as I know he doesn't resist soul manip, or pretty much anything by the looks of it... Not sure about the immortality (It's not listed in his powers so I dunno what type it is, but it's one of his categories... strange...), rn I guess we'll have to ignore that.

I vote for nighmare, but soon there going to be a big upgrade for protege so it really wouldn't matter.
