Deltarune Chapter 2 discussion!

I've always liked the Dreemurr surname, it can be intimidating (Asriel, Asgore), but also kinda sweet and welcoming (Asriel again, Kris)

All Deltarune profiles have been updated, so don't be afraid to make battles against 8-C+ or even High 8-C characters, as the one-shot multiplier would effectively make Deltarune characters 3.75 tons during matches.

Pretty sure you are not allowed to use the oneshot multiplier for AP upscaling, it's only used to determine whether or not someone will oneshot based on their AP value if they have no set multiplier requirement to be able to oneshot.

That's a shame.

Does Kris has any chance against Sans even without Save powers?

Not. Even. Close.
Actually I disagree, not only Kris's slash appearing in Sans' body could catch him by surprise and kill him instantly, Kris, as a fighter, is much better than Frisk, and Kris can easily tire Sans out much faster just by looking at him.

In addition, being much farther away from Sans than Frisk would allow Kris to better dodge his attacks, and having a larger HP bar would let them survive for much longer.

Kris can even attack during turns with Yellow Mode, so Sans holding on his turn will not work out on his favor.

I love that the would-be-game-mechanic of Kris not moving up to the opponent to hit them is an actual canon thing thanks to the cutscene of Susie hitting the King from meters away

Hunh. So she does.

Thanks for the clarification!

Kinda surprising, but it does feel in line with Toby's style to implement the "RPG characters actually do do their melee attacks without approaching the target" thing, IMHO.

Sorry for any bother, all.

One thing to take note of is that Kris doesn't exactly possess the same law negating capabilities as Chara/Frisk
If you are referring to moving the battle box, Kris can attack during turns with Big Shots so stalling wouldn't work for Sans, he's just gonna get tired and get hit anyway.

sans could simply stop time and surround poor kris within a dome of Gaster blasters that would send him to the high heavens even considering the bullet ability he has.

Not how his time stop works, his time stop comes from a scene in the Grillby's, it's an ability he didn't use offensively against Frisk, or at the very least he can't time stop and shoot at you while time is stopped.

It's so obscure that even Undertale's own supports aren't sure he should have it.

My only problem is that Sans has way too many battles already, there are other characters in Undertale people.

Everytime the screen turns black, gaster blasters suddenly appeared once the dark is gone. He stops time, places his blasters there and resumes time for the blasters to fire. Just like Dio throwing knives in stopped time and waited for time to continue so his knives could continue their premeditated flight path.

He didn't gain Time Stop for that though, nor is it really mentioned as support for his time stop.

Setting up attacks didn't allow him to overwhelm a child, and it's clear that he cannot attack during time stops, as the Gaster Blasters still take time to go off.

That's what I had said.

I have been meaning to ask, after Toby made a patch adding an Enraged Spamton after we use too many Big Shots, and we recognize it in Spamton's profile, does that mean we also accept that Kris is able to fire so many Big Shots right?

Since instead of deleting it, Toby added a new mechanic behind that ability, and the patch notes state it's now intentional.

So how do we describe it?

I don't remember how long a regular Big Shot takes, but IIRC, the Big Shot exploit allows firing 1 every frame (In a 30 FPS.) if done optimally, IIRC.

How do we describe that in regards to the Speed & such?

It would be described as Danmaku, since 20 projectiles at a time is the minimum required for the ability.

Despite the Big Shot Exploit firing being the same projectile, from mostly the same location/source?

No "Higher Attack Speed with Big Shot Exploit" or such based on how much faster Kris can fire Big Shots with it compared to normally?

Yep, according to the page, the projectiles just need to be in great quantity, enough to overwhelm enemies.

They having a complicated pattern is more like a plus. Also the SOUL can move around to create different patterns.

I guess a mention wouldn't hurt, though the Big Shots move just as quick as they normally do.

Neat.
Well, figures Kris would get Danmaku somehow, given Deltarune's genre.

Though, given they can only do it in 1 way, & has only shown it in 1 fight (Though some would chalk that up to characterization rather than capability.), via an ostensibly canonized exploit, perhaps it should be noted as "Limited" Danmaku?

Eh, I guess, but yeah, a mention, since normally releasing 1 Big Shot takes time to charge it up, & with this, multiple can be fired in very rapid succession with 1 unspent charge.
