Does infinite layers of underworld/low umbra qualify for infinite layers into High 1-A? Can you explain dot scaling to me? Don't really understand why it is an infinite hierarchy

Is there a reason why High Umbra is meta and not just qualitative? You mean, since the Underworld (Umbra) sees Tapestry as a shadow, so having many of these structures must be qualitative? Still don't really understand the logic behind this

Sorry for the above wording, I mean is there any statement about infinite dots?

The High Umbra is where abstraction begins to go insane. My blog goes into massive details about it, but things like Plato's Cave for everything below it.

The analogy for the Spires is that the entire umbra is a flat field of wonder while the Spires are the mountains, the mountains are all infinite in size and are infinite recursively refracting as the Tree of Life and so on.

A lot of my blog discusses this in depth so there's no point repeating myself.

As for there being an infinite number of Dots, there's nothing explicit, but we know from entities like The Nameless King that Dots do go upwards into infinity. He has backgrounds, which are far more specified on what they do per dot than Spheres, and has nearly all but a listed few at Infinite.

In terms of what's listed, we are given abilities from Dots 1-9, however, once again, the Nameless King shows us you can go beyond this, as he has Entropy 10. In the game system itself, noting says 9 or 10 is the limit, 10 is what is show for Willpower, but many enemies have 15-20 Willpower.

You can reach any number of Dots, the system doesn't have flat calculations for reaching X dot with EXP, but rather a rule of "6 EXP x current level" to go to the next level. So for Dot 2 to 3 it would cost 12 EXP. Dot 20 to 21 would cost 126 EXP (Which would be an astronomical amount, but entirely do-able)

Wasn't Dots Scaling rejected by Ultima? Or is this thread just outdated? https://vsbattles.com/threads/frick-this-sense-of-deja-vu.66548/#post-2292638
Also what is the exp mechanism (I know it's gameplay) that allows them to reach that tier? AFAIK, any use of something from a lower reality to ascend to a higher reality is automatically an anti-feat of qualitative superiority (or beyond) so...

Q: Are there any disqualifiers for qualitative superiority?

A: The potential disqualifiers largely revolve around the aforementioned aspect of inaccessibility: A qualitative superiority is completely irreducible to anything lesser than itself, and conversely, it cannot be reached by any additive process whatsoever.
The first practical effect of this fact is that the power of a 1-A character cannot be dispersed so much that it reaches into a lower tier. Since there is no conceivable extension of any lower tier that can yield equality to a 1-A structure, neither can there be any subdivision (Even an infinite subdivision) of 1-A that reduces down into such tiers. Unless, of course, this division is somehow non-quantitative in nature (i.e. The results of the division are not actually numerical "chunks" of the character's power); however, this should be made reasonably clear by statements or through background context.
Secondly, a 1-A level cannot be attained by a process in which the lower level quantitatively "adds up" to itself to break through into the higher one, due to the total lack of structural continuity between the two; the higher level cannot be attained, nor expressed by, any expansions of the lower one, and therefore things from the latter cannot interfere with the former by means of their own lower existences. Put simply: A non-1-A cannot reach the level of 1-A by appealing to another non-1-A

Hey, can you take a look at this Low 1-C CRT. We need one more staff vote. You can find a summary in the bottom of Page 4.

Take a look at this CRT, needing one more staff vote.

Hey, currently we're doing a Low 1-C CRT for Cookie Run. If you don't know the verse take ur chance to see it, its a fun game and very OP verse

Hey, if you've got the time, check out this thread. One more vote is needed

Hey Bambu, We've reached our conclusions for the Low 1-C Cookie Run Upgrade and require one more staff vote for it to be applied. Please take a look.

Hello Ultima I have a question as I am new to VSBW. I have a question about High1-A and High1-A Meta-meta-qualitative superiority. How does it work differently than layers, i.e. characters at High1-A level above baseline, and High1-A Meta-meta-qualitative superiority. My overall question is, how is Meta-meta-qualitative superiority different from layers and how does it work?

Okay so. Think of it like this.

1-A is the start of qualitative superiority.

In 1-A, you can get layers by being higher up on the same system of qualities. For example, let's use a system of R>F differences.

The first R>F difference is baseline 1-A. The second one is a layer into 1-A, and so on. Each layer sees the one below as fiction.

High 1-A (Meta-Quality) is beyond this entire system of qualities. No amount of R>F above 1-A reaches it.

Now let's say that within this new High 1-A (Meta-Quality) system, there is a higher-level/layer of it which sees the baseline layer as fictional or otherwise ontologically inferior. This would be one layer into High 1-A. You could have infinite amount of these layers, and it still wouldn't reach Meta-Meta Quality, but would still be far superior to each other.

Similarly, let's now say that there's some structure of being that no amount of these ontological layers into the first Meta-Quality system can reach. This would be Meta-Meta-Quality.

You can continue these systems of meta-layering and normal layering.

You could have someone who is 30 layers into Meta-Meta-Meta-Quality, for example. And they'd be treated as being transcendent to someone who is only 29 layers into Meta-Meta-Meta-Quality.

Yet something like Meta-Meta-Meta-Meta-Quality would still be incomprehensible and unreachable relative to them.

Do you get what I mean? This system continues forever and ever.

High 1-A+ is then essentially the framework of all possible qualities and their extensions thereof.

I would like to ask one more thing, do I understand correctly that meta-meta superiority in quality is High1-A+ or am I mistaken?
Hi Armor, can you please take a look at this request?

This other one too would be nice but it's less urgent. The first one might need to replace the current Low 7-B rating characters scale to depending on how research goes. The current justification is a bit shaky.

Thanks for the calc! Should I link it on the Calc Eval thread?

I don't think there is a direct statement, sorry. The closest thing I know of is the comparison of the Celebdil to the Silvertine in Switzerland. Sorry, on mobile.

Letter 302 compares the mountain to the Silvertine in Switzerland.

"I left the view of Jungfrau with deep regret: eternal snow, etched as
it seemed against eternal sunshine, and the Silberhorn sharp against dark blue: the Silvertine
(Celebdil) of my dreams."

The Fellowship of the Ring, LoTR Book 2, Ch 3, The Ring Goes South also has the two share a name.

[Said Gandalf,] 'We fought far under the living earth.... In that despair my enemy [the Balrog of Moria] was my only hope, and I pursued him, clutching at his heel. Thus he brought me back at last to the secret ways of Khazad-dûm: too well he knew them all. Ever up now we went, until we came to the Endless Stair.' ...

'From the lowest dungeon to the highest peak it climbed, ascending in unbroken spiral in many thousand steps, until it issued at last in Durin's Tower carved in the living rock of Zirakzigil, the pinnacle of the Silvertine.

Edit: I did find a Map legend for the Atlas and put it in the imgur. It might help a little.

I see. I guess I need more the average land's ground height than the mountains, I could do a token 100 or smt but I think it'd barely change. You're free to try to get it eval'd, good luck. Maybe bambu could give it a look, idk
Hello! All good? Sorry if I'm bothering you, but when you can, could you evaluate these two calculations?
