Butters Glass Cannon Brackets: Round 3 Bubble vs Kongou

And so we move to the third round of our glass cannon contenders! This round is none other then Bubble, from Battle for dream island, Submitted by I'm Blue daba dee daba die, going up against Kongou Mitsuko, from the To Aru Majutsu No Index series, Submitted by Blahblah9755

The Current Standings

Speed is equal

Bubble has below average durability with City+ AP

Kongou has Human durability with Building AP

That's all! Let's do this!

Kongou Mitsuko: 7

Bubble: 1

Inconclusive/Draw:

Aye.

So, I hear Kongou needs to touch the ground to activate her ejection? She'll just be frozen by one syringe. That is all that is needed. In fact, the syringe thrown would be faster than her ducking to touch the ground. Even when she does touch it, it'll just be a few seconds before it activates. And Bubble can just throw in a few more in the case the first misses.

I vote Bubble.

Cant Kongou just dodge the syringe and then create a bunch of profectiles to pop bubble?

Is that so? Then bubble, I guess.

Shes dodged some thrown fast-paced, however. And as I said, if she misses, she'll just throw a few more. Remember that Kangou needs to touch a surface for her ejection attack to work, and at such a range like this, throwing something seems faster than trying to duck and touch the ground.

Wouldn't her projectiles cancel out bubbles's?
Problem is, she needs to touch the ground first. Bubble only needs one or a few throws to get her, which is at least faster than her touching the ground.

Yet Bubble's seems limitless, and she just scatters them around. Especially hitting low. Plus, it seems only limited to touching surfaces which is where said points will go.

I agree. Speed is equal and they start 4 km away (though this should probably be changed). She can literally duck to dodge a projectile and place her hand on the ground all in one move. If that's all she needs to do. They syringe isn't some massive tsunami coming her way where she has to dodge in such a way that can't duck and touch the ground. Additionally, speed is equalized. So why would a syringe that has to travel dozens of meters hit her before she has to duck down a single meter?

My main question is, does she need to stay in one place for the several seconds it takes her ejection to activate? If not, then I don't see why she can't take it. If she does need to stay in one place, then I'll vote for Bubble.

She would most likely have to be staying in one place, so her action of touching the ground would force her to stay, before shes just left vulnerable for a few seconds while shes touching the ground.

Shouldn't just assume that though. It isn't mostly likely she does, as it could be either way. Better we check the series examples

I'm likely misunderstanding the abilities here.

So, from my understanding, Kongou needs to touch the ground for several seconds to activate her ejection.

And Bubble throws out syringes, multiple at once if she so chooses, that freeze whomever they touch on contact.

Is this correct? If so, then I will vote for Bubble. As Kongou will be too pressured to get those several seconds.

That was only from one, however. You cant just assume if one has bad aim, everyone has it. Hell, Pencil at one point is even shown to throw said syringes perfectly well. And "bad aim" is like every known cartoon when someone for example fires a machine gun at someone but misses, most likely just to be a gag dodge.

On the other hand, those times of contestants dodging danmaku was on 4-5 occasions, so it is seemingly consistent.

What the hell do you mean by gag dodge? Do funny scenes just not count? Are they somehow not canon because they are supposed to be funny even if they happened in verse?

I mean that there are times in other cartoons that one fires multiple items at a target only to run in a straight line, or if its even a laser gun of all things. Said things are usually Plot-Induced Stupidity.

I'm not assuming bad aim. Assuming has no actual evidence behind it. Mine is his rapid fire shots flat out sucked in aiming. You can't pretend that doesn't exist. And you can't call it a gag if it's the only real instance. Unless you can show other instances of Bubble specifically throwing with better aim, it's not able to be written off like that

You also can't use another characters aim skill and compare it to bubble when bubble didn't show the same level of aim. You need examples of bubble having good aim with multiple shots. Not Pencil. As Bubbles only instance sucks horribly.

And your using Pencils instances, who so far has shown feats to just clearly be above Bubble. Why should we scale when it's clear by feats that Pencil is just better

Not really? There is no reason to assume that, there isn't much plot reason for it to happen at all. The only reason I can assume that you would discount it is because it makes your argument kinda inconsistent. It happened for sure, even if unexplained, so you really shouldn't discount it.

She only has to touch the thing. Afterwards she can activate the ejection point from a distance at any time.

@DontTalkDT

Thank you.

In that case, I'll retract my vote for the time being. There also seems to be a debate on how good Bubble's aim truly is.

Isnt it just limited to the point to whatever she touched the surface in?

Yes, she needs to have touched the spot to create an ejection point.

However, neither does she need to touch it for an extended period of time, nor does she need to stay close to the things she has touched to create wind from them.

In this match her best attacks would be either something like launching a random nearby tree or grabbing a hand full of pebbles to create a cluster of projectiles.
