I got this idea from a potential VS Battles Wiki RPG, who's setting is based on our society and etc. However, this project is not going to have its release anytime soon, so I thought about another form of fiction that can work well and platform-independent. Yup, that's novel!

Do you think that it possess any potential and how can it be done? Get your ideas here, I'll try to write them down on OP post.

Here's my development page for the novel. Feel free to edit this page~

You can leave the ideas here. Also, feel free to edit this page~

I had an idea like this as well before. I wanted to create stories with the users here as characters, kinda like how I used to do with my RL friends back at school.

I even had the main cast, their superpowers and the basic plot structure decided and everything

Does it have potential? Absolutely! This seems like it would be something so cool and promising that it'd be weird for it to not have potential.

How can it be done? There's where I'm less certain.

@Andytrenom

WeeklyBattles likely talks about the novels in general, not about the wiki itself.

Maybe the plot can be about an organization who knows about and researches supernatural creatures and phenomenons, with various members having their own goal related to handling the situations as well individuals not affiliated with the organization who are also aware of what's going on?

Although I kinda also want to see a fantasy style take on it, with a whacky setting containing unusual customs, rules, locations and phrnomenoms

That idea might have more potential.

So you want to make SCP Foundation

I figured someone would make that comparison. But no, I barely know anything about SCP so I am not trying to emulate it, it's just a concept that makes sense given the site's function.

For someone who knows nothing about SCP you basically gave a summary of the entire verse lol

Though technically the wiki is a lot like the Foundation...

@Skalt Yeah, it also makes it easier to make fun of ourselves which is why I'm kinda leaning towards that proposal more

Gotcha. This is going to be like SCP, huh.

I'd like to develop the world of the setting first. How does it look and what places you can find.

@Weekly I mean, "Secret organization that deals with extraordinary problems, the knowledge of whose existence could change the world as we know it" is a pretty common trope even if they aren't always the central point of view for the story. I doubt SCP was the first to adopt such an idea.

Will we have one or multiple main characters? I prefer multiple.

Who should be the main characters in your opinion? Persobally I think the Bureaucrats should have authority figure roles more than MC roles and I also have a different idea for Saikou and Crabwhale

I have something inline with that as well:

We're the Ranker, people who dedicated their life, to record other's and placed them on the ranking board of existence. We figured out someone strength, weakness, what ability they have and etc...and then recorded it onto the Wikia, the all-knowing all-seeing record of strength.

As Ranker, we can't interfere with the progress of strength, but we could learn from that strength itself. The Wikia have perfect knowledge and recording, of the various ability and strength we have collected, and we could from it "download" the strength itself into either ourselves, for further research...or on entirely artificial being, codename OC, to create and simulate power.

Their goal isn't to create the most all-powerful being, but to witness them, and record their power. And you're part of the organization...almost by accident. or something like that

@Andykhang, the idea sounds awesome and it remind of why I joined the wiki; it was to help with accurate statistics and abilities of characters/weapons/civilizations free of bias :) !!!

This sounds pretty darn cool.

How are we getting info on insanely powerful characters without getting our asses kicked in the background?
