Star Wars: Legends vs Canon

Yeeeeeeep.

Long story short, between legends and canon, which do you like more and why? Like both equally? Still explain why.

For me: Legends, all the damn way.

From, Darth Plageuis, to Darth Bane, To Nihilus, To Revan. Legends just has so many incredible stories that are just as good if not better then the current trilogy IMO

Bonus: Do Any legends Story's rival that of the movies for you?

that reminds me... I wanted to post this on the 25th.

wanted to celebrate the Legends Continuity. 4 years and 3 days ago. we lost Legends, so it's nice to take a look back and appreciate the old EU for giving us thousands of stories to love, a lot of the stuff many of us grew up with.

While we have had only had a handful of Canon games (two AAA titles and a few mobile games), Legends games utterly shit on them, as Shadow Senpai said. It's not even close.

The new Battlefront titles are insults to the originals. EA did a damn fine job in ruining them.

F@ck the graphics. The game looks pretty but has no personality.

Republic Commando had outdated graphics even by 2005 standards and it utterly ***** on Battlefront in terms of quality. Even Republic Commando's multiplayer, which was regarded as bland back in 2005, is better.
 
Okay... Rant is done. Now to say something nice.

Canon has consistently good comics and novels. Legends fluctuated wildly between "WTF did I just read?" and "Absolutely outstanding".

The worst novels in Canon can at worst be described as "They're just there" while the best ones are easily on par with the best Legends novels.

The same applies to the Canon comics. The Darth Vader 2015 and 2017 comic series in particular are easily some of the best Star Wars comics I've read, Legends or Canon.

Heir to the Jedi is considered by most to be the worst canon novel but that book is actually part of a series of three books, due to the timing and release of the book it made its way into the canon. so the other two books in the series are legends and the other one is Canon
 
Legends. Kotor 2 alone is so well written that it ***** on everything cannon has done so far multiplied by Sidious' mind hax.
 
You can like Kotor 1 more, but the plot isn't really deep and to be fair, very simple, saying that it's better written than Kotor 2 is kinda wrong.

but yes i hope canon ends up being extremely diverse EU like the old canon was

Meanwhile we have a cool yet two dimensional Protagonist and a cast not even half as interesting or cool as KOTOR 1 barring Kreia.

Writing doesn't just apply to the story, it applies to the characters, the latter of which is more important then the former.

That said KOTOR 2s story is still excellent and arguably better then the new trilogy.
 
I didn't say I disagree, I just found Meetra really....Boring.

Nowhere near as great as Nihilus
 
Complex doesnt always mean better

AOTC and TPM are far more complex than a New Hope but i think ANH is a far better movie than those two
 
Kotor 1 and 2>Prequels and New trilogy except for Revenge of the Sith

Who agrees?
