Suddenly, my lightsaber is gone. It flies from my hand across the room. It lands in the hand of my Master.
I never see him enter. Not if he doesn't want me to.
The smile of triumph fades from my face.
"Do you think, " Lord Sidious says, walking toward me, "you can ever relax your guard?"
"No, Master. " What a clumsy, weak mistake. I should be prepared for him to enter at all times. How could I have forgotten that, even for a moment?
The lightsaber whirls in the air, twirling, held in my Master's hand. I can't track it, it moves so fast. But I know it's heading for me.
Lord Sidious moves faster than my eye can follow. I smell heat and smoke. The laser traces the outline of my body, my face, my hands. The buzz is loud in my ear. One flinch, one involuntary twitch of a muscle, and I am dead.
I do not flinch.
At last, Lord Sidious deactivates my weapon. He tosses it toward me. The sweat on my palm almost causes me to drop it.
"Do not let me see you relax your guard again, " my Master says. His eyes burn. "You are valuable, yes. But you are not indispensable, Lord Maul. I can do without you."
A flick of his robe, and he is gone.
-Episode I Journal - Darth Maul
Dooku was an eager student, and yet Sidious had continued to hold him at arm's length. Perhaps he had been working with other potential replacements for his earlier apprentice, the savage Darth Maul, who, in fact, had been nothing more than a minion, like Asajj Ventress and General Grievous. Sidious had recognized in Dooku the makings of a true accomplice - - an equal from the other camp, already trained in the Jedi arts, a master duelist, a political visionary.

Now, sure, I may not be the most up to date on legends... but Star Wars: THE Clone Wars is the shit that's Disney canon. Star Wars: Clone Wars is legends canon.Side Note: It doesn’t change much for this match, but I’m pretty sure saying TCW can’t be considered for this matchup is against VS Battle Thread Rules. TCW is canonical to Legends and the site indexes it as such, therefore using versions that ignore this is both essentially writing fanfiction and using characters without profiles
It is both (for the most part). Now, sure, I may not be the most up to date on legends... but Star Wars: THE Clone Wars is the shit that's Disney canon. Star Wars: Clone Wars is legends canon.
Now that's just ****** weird and contradictory, and kinda makes Grievous go even when it comes to jobbing and actually kicking assIt is both (for the most part).
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Seasons 1 through 6 were made prior to the Disney/Legends cutoff date of April 25th, 2014. It was classified as T-Canon Legends material, behind only the movies in continuity.
When Disney created their own Canon, TCW was imported into it (now counting as both Canon and Legends) and was topped off with a Season 7 in 2020 (which for that season alone was a Disney Canon exclusive).
Canonically in Legends, Grievous reveals himself, kicks ass, jobs for 3 years, kicks ass again on Corusant, then jobs til he dies on Utapau which is kind of funnyNow that's just ****** weird and contradictory, and kinda makes Grievous go even when it comes to jobbing and actually kicking ass
He does sometimes appear in books and comics, and he usually has good showings of himself there(such as scaring the piss out of Mace Windu when he started replicating Vapaad without a force connection) hence why I said it was even lolCanonically in Legends, Grievous reveals himself, kicks ass, jobs for 3 years, kicks ass again on Corusant, then jobs til he dies on Utapau which is kind of funny
Anyways voting Grievous
Damn, I only ever really watched the movies and the shows. Good to know he actually does things other than job to Kenobi and kill fodderHe does sometimes appear in books and comics, and he usually has good showings of himself there(such as scaring the piss out of Mace Windu when he started replicating Vapaad without a force connection) hence why I said it was even lol
Yeah there was a damn reason Mace force crushed him instead of lightsaber fighting him, since Mace massively prefers lightsaber combat... and it's that Mace literally refuses to let Grievous fully replicate his fighting style.Damn, I only ever really watched the movies and the shows. Without any lightsabers at that if I remember correctly. Pretty sure he used his bare hands and an electrostaff.Yeah there was a damn reason Mace force crushed him instead of lightsaber fighting him, since Mace massively prefers lightsaber combat... and it's that Mace literally refuses to let Grievous fully replicate his fighting style.
He also fuckstomped Ventress and Durge at the same time in a comic
being a jobber is a part time job for Grievous.Without any lightsabers at that if I remember correctly. Pretty sure he used his bare hands and an electrostaff.
What? How is stomping Durge and Ventress at the same time without using lightsabers being a jobber?being a jobber is a part time job for Grievous.
so is being cool. no full time job.
It's not. Him being a jobber is just everything outside of the handful of cool stuff he does (Which happens to only happen in comics, unfortunately)What? How is stomping Durge and Ventress at the same time without using lightsabers being a jobber?
And books, like the Mace Windu incident. It's not. Him being a jobber is just everything outside of the handful of cool stuff he does (Which happens to only happen in comics, unfortunately)
Lego says Grievous > Maul
He did WHAT to them?He also fuckstomped Ventress and Durge at the same time in a comic
