Yeah, but while all the Lin Fan's in the the author's novels are related, some like, "I don't want to go against the Sky" ends without acknowledging the wider universe.

The Lin Fan in that novel didn't reach such a high level.

If I were to grade all the Lin Fans in Xinfeng's novels:
1. Strongest System
2. It's Lonely to be Invincible
3. I don't want to go against the Sky

I haven't finished the last 2 so I don't know how powerful the Lin Fans in both are.
4. Inadvertently Invincible
5. A Valiant Life

I have started so many novels and dropped them a few chapters in. If I don't like the MC's personality, it is really hard for me to continue reading a story no matter how good it is overall.

I'm pretty sure everyone who is deep into the novels' rabbit hole like I am has already read it. I've been reading these stuff for like 5 or 6 years now so if something is popular, I've probably read it.

Right now I am in the MTL and bad translations novels phase.

I'm also at this stage, I read MTL as if it were the normal translation. Reading unknown novels is difficult companion
 
Read whatever you want, you'll have time to read other things.

MTL Dao is a demonic pathway but one we happly and needly comprehand for novels we find interesting either are dropped (Im looking at you webnovel/qidian), are not translated or we don't have patience for the translation but this usually take years, sigh.
 
I'm not gonna cross the line to read MTL stuff.
I've even been procrastinating reading fixed MTL of Sword of Dawn/Daybreak/etc for months now.

Same and I'm fairly picky with my MC's, too. Not a fan of romance as it gets in the way of the adventure I'm reading for so MC's overly focussed on that will make me drop the series, MC's who are dicks for literally no reason will, overly perverted (seperate from romance), too much of a doormat with no signs of ever growing out of it.
I just want someone who can put 1 foot infront of the other to reach a goal in a cool world without getting distracted and that's surprisingly hard. Especially the romance thing. Goddamn does china love wangsty overly dramatic romance.
 
It's hard to find a balance from the small pool of translated novels. You'll go in with one or more preference/s being met but probably settle for a-lot of things you don't like or you quit. For example, Sage Monarch has no romance but the series is hard to finish if you don't have indexing in mind, because of how bad it is.
 
Choosing novels is hard, I usually do the 200 chapter rule, if I like it I keep reading. But particularly the last "new" novel I finished was The Prodigies War.

The novel is pretty great and the MC is strong and cunning as well. Plus it is one of the few novels to acknowledge the importance of martial arts to cultivators.

Ordinary martial artists in the Jianghu can only harness True Qi so they are still severely outmatched by even the weakest cultivators but pretty much all cultivators have a mortal martial arts background first.

Author does give some solid scaling for Im-a-Courteous-and-Honorable-Man-Not-a-Devil

When MC is at a level comparable to True Immortal (1st stage), if the power in a drop of his blood is released, it can turn a mountain into ashes. On top of that, he can destroy the surface of a planet with a punch but he cannot destroy the entire planet. Basically True Immortals/Human Immortals are surface wipers.

This is definitely one of the best novels I have read in a while especially in the MC's mindset and morality. He is pretty much a superhero in a cultivator world considering he takes active steps to save people, his own sect as well as other sects, even when he travels to different worlds he does his best to save them. He basically doesn't tolerate evil at all or turn a blind eye to things. He is NOT a misogynist, he is NOT racist like 99% of CN MC's against other non-human races, he does NOT condone stuff like rape or slavery, etc. Of course he does not spare bad guys who have committed great evil but if its just ordinary sect members, he doesn't go around wiping out entire sects, he just takes out the higher echelons and the people who have harmed the innocent then reforms the rest. Like I am sure if this was another CN, the MC would just flatten the entire sect including thouands of random low level disciples who didn't even know what was going on.

Additionally, the novel doesn't have young masters or nonsense like that so that's a huge plus. Also while the MC is young, he is relatively powerful without being too overpowered. If anyone wants to read it, they can find it on
novelhi
with pretty good translations and 353 chapters so far (it is a new novel).

Leaving aside Ergen's Novels, which I personally find amazing are only drawn to the sentimental side of cultivation. In terms of large novels, more than 3k of chapters, the best developed I've read is undoubtedly God Emperor by Flying Fish, seriously if you have some time try reading it. Even she is still in release

I take it back, he didn't ignore the Tenth World. You can put another 2k of chapters for the end of ED, between the Tenth world, the fight against "That person" and finally the final expedition I believe it should be more or less this
 
My new agenda:

1. The Ultimate Demon - This is pure gold and about Gu Cultivation. So far, I'd say it's the best novels I have read this year. 10/10. Plus the translations on Novelhi are pretty good.

2. My Body is Too Resilient, It can Cultivate its own Techniques - Pretty good but the tranlations aren't that good. Till this day I still don't know the different levels that well due to poor tranlations of the power system. Only 165 chapters out so far but an overall great story.

So far (chapter 357), the verse caps at around mountain level physically but the sheer number of reality warping hax is insane.

I'd say almost 50% of Gu and named characters have some sort of insane hax. Stuff like absolute mind control, reading people's minds just from wine, using the manifestation of rumors to kill, creating an armor out of the hate you receive from others, bypassing all defences by making reality into illusion and vice versa, using love to manifest armor, countless spatial and dimension creation abilities that even fodder have, etc.

It is a truly crazy verse.

Any random named character or even fodder that appears might have some crazy hax ability.

Reverend Insanity didn't invent Gu Cultivation. It's just the most famous one with it.

The Novel itself is nothing like Reverend Insanity. Plus I'd say the Gu Cultivation in this novel is even deeper.

Also MC isn't a villain or anything like that.

As for Cultivation of both Gu Masters and Gu, it is divided into:
1. White Rank
2. Bronze Rank
3. Silver Rank
4. Gold Rank
5. Legend Rank
6. Epic? Rank (unconfirmed)

Gu also have unique abilities when they level up called "Special Effects". On top of that, if a person can enforce their will on the Gu, they awaken a "Divine Ability".

At the Legend Rank, Gu Masters can create their own world or dimension and because of that the laws of heaven and earth don't tolerate them. If they use power above Gold Rank 10, a calamity or tribulation will descend.

Would it be enough if the "void" here means a spatial dimension as in Yuan Shi existed and the one that created the Spatial & Temporal Dimension(s)?

From what i found it seems like there's a 2-A multiverse then a (or multiple?) higher dimension(s) so probably atleast 6+2D and peeps like Yuan Shi and Buddha exist outside of it

The cultivation realm is called the Other Shore/Paramita/Nirvana to achieve it someone needs to "be free from the sea of bitterness and jump out of the river of time"
If i'm not wrong from what i've read the sea of bitterness is the spatial dimension(s) while the river of time is the temporal dimension(s)

Can't really judge anything from that alone. It would be best if you made a blog to simplify the cosmology and then posted it for people to look at.

maybe lol, the reason why i dropped the novel years ago is because of the translation (only read like maybe 200-300 chapters), the translation is bad to sometimes really bad, and the novel isn't easy to MTL because of the more flowery language, at least compared to cuttlefish other novels like Lord of Mysteries and Throne of Magical Arcana, and with more chinese vocab
