If his account still contains his registered email address, I can send him an password reset email message if he wishes. It should prevent the scammers from accessing his account anymore.

Well, I have noticed any new hacked accounts, but there is still this issue to deal with.

I made another attempt to send out a mass-email message to our unbanned members after our system manager changed our forum settings. Did it work this time?

Our forum is under attack by people who post what appear to be crypto Telegram links, but they likely contain viruses that infect the computers of those who click them.

Do NOT under any circumstances click on these links, or quote the messages that contain them.

If you see such posts, quickly report them to our rule-violation reports thread, so our staff members can delete them.

Here is what they look like:

According to our available information, it appears that the hackers are using programs to brute force access the accounts of members with weak passwords.

Everybody please make sure that you have sufficiently strong passwords that use a mixture of letters, numbers, and symbols, and use at least 17 to 18 of them in combination, and also always use two-factor authentication if possible.

I extremely strongly recommend that everybody who read this follow these instructions to get stronger passwords and two-factor authentication, and inform all other members here that they know about it as well.

Isn't the hot and fast rule 1 month of total inactivity or 3 months of infrequent activity?

I do not recall so well, but we have likely been lenient enough, and it wouldn't at all be good if our staff members' accounts get hacked, to say the least.

Hop is able to log in and has no issues with the account. Hop will focus on being more active and addressing staff concerns. Also, as a reminder, Hop is friends with a large amount of staff on Discord, but Hop hasn't had access to these accounts going on 6 months+ and you should ignore them if "Hop" has messaged you on there. Hop simply doesn't use the platform anymore but hasn't been able to log in and delete the account(s). Until Hop returns, please just "mute" Hop until a post is made on the personal user wall on here first. All Hop accounts outside Fandom and YT are either fan or impersonating accounts.

And all administrators and discussion moderators are required to subscribe to it, bookmark it, and regularly visit it, as an extremely important part of their work duties here.
