Random question, but why are Minecraft fans so upset at the movie? I thought it had already come out and was terrible, but turns out it's not even released yet? Sorry for being lazy, but I really don't want to go at the cesspool of the youtube comment section.

Cause the movie is gonna be live action instead of animated which most people (me included) don't think works for a Minecraft movie.

As much as I love Jack Black, the movie looks cringe. But maybe I'm overlooking that the film is mainly for children.

My two cents? Cringe trailers, seemingly bad humor, corny references, and weirdly realistic blocky CGI with Live Actors. The movie doesn't look very interesting either beyond it having both Jack Black and it being a Minecraft film adaptation. And I think the second trailer is riding on Jack Black being a main character hard here.

It'll probably sell really good either way. At a surface glance, it looks like i'm staring at churned out hollywood garbage at the bottom.

Ah, gotcha. I can see what you mean and the issues with it being live action make sense. Given that the Sonic live action films turned out pretty well, I imagined Minecraft was on the right track as well (then again, I know next to nothing of Minecraft and hadn't watched the trailer until now).

Even though it's definitely going to be bad I still want to watch it for two reasons:
One: Jack Black is one of my favorite actors and favorite celebrities in general (he, Jim Carrey and Weird Al are arguably my three favorite white men)
Two: Even though it's gonna be very cheesy and stupid, and definitely unfunny at times, I actually kind of like those aspects of it. To be honest I never expected anything good out of the movie anyway, I think it'd at most be on par with the first sonic movie (and that in and of it self is a stretch), but even if it's really bad, which is pretty likely, it'll at least be a fun type of bad.

I unironically would but I don't think there's any good tier lists for that
The best one I found is one that did indeed have a lot of male white celebrities but it seems like they only put ones who were physically attractive (as in little fat on their body and what not) so I couldn't find people like Jack Black on it
Therefore it was worthless.

Yeah, didn't remember the exact wording but I knew that the "toughed it out so you wouldn't feel sad" message isn't what you'd get to prevent KO via burn, because that message is only for taking damage from an attack. Curing a burn (Along with the other statuses.) have their own messages.
