Too bad this is contradicted by every fight ever where people get winded and stuff.

@Wok Those fights would be labeled as inconsistencies by our standards. They have unlimited stamina. If you think otherwise make a CRT.

As for the ships, Gem ships are immensely stronger, especially stuff like the Diamond warships
Weekly, we've been over this, literally any ship that isn't the diamond ships get oneshot by any Tyranid bio-ship.

And there are billions more bio-ships than standard hand ships.

Why exactly are they labelled as inconsistencies when it's every time a fight is shown? What actually happens > what's just said in cases like this.

@Wok Because the amount of times theyre not even remotely winded after a fight outnumber the very, very few times they are a dozen to one

Also Gems have FTL feats so no theyre not being blitzed any time soon
Weekly, there is an entire scene documenting how going FTL will **** up a Gems body because a Gems body is made of light.

Any FTL movement feats are both outliers and inconsistent.

@Holy And said episode is universally accepted as horribly inaccurate as the Gems themselves perform a MFTL+ feat in the SAME SCENE

Feats > statements. They have FTL feats. Theyre FTL.

No they're not. the statement comes from Pearl and only mentions it in that scene, and even then they explain later the reason they got messed up was beacause the ship wasn't calibrated correctly for them. Gem ships wouldn't even have FTL settings if it messed up their bodies, that makes literally no sense.

Until it's added if it's even gonna be added, we have foot slogging fodder Tyranids against speed blitzing gems, who then get speed glitzee by any Tyranid likely in the FTL range.

Again, it just causes unnecessary problems and makes things a mess.

Oh, i love how we havent even brought up stuff like the precognitive abilities of the millions of sapphires the Gems have

@Cinnabar wouldn't that suggest that Gems have to have a vehicle that is calibrated for them in order to travel faster than light, as doing so otherwise does mess up their bodies?

@Weekly you mean the same precognitive abilities that were wrong about Rose Quartz being defeated, were wrong about Steven because of Garnet's own biases (assuming he would take paths involving less mature actions, when he was actually more mature than before), and which didn't seem to know about the Cluster (as far as I can remember, if I'm incorrect please remind me)? It doesn't exactly seem the most reliable, if anything it's some kind of probability assessment.

Edit: As far as replicator wands and the time glass go Homeworld hasn't been shown to make effective use of either, and I don't think we've even seen a time glass outside of a set of ruins on Earth, which means it could well have been a Crystal Gem device, and in any case they never seemed to have tried to use it to get Pink Diamond back, meaning they either couldn't or didn't think of it, in either case it doesn't help them.

When we're they wrong about rose being defeated?

Garnet's precog is canonically vastly different from sapphire's

@Weekly when Sapphire said to Blue Diamond that Rose would be defeated after she (Sapphire) was poofed, but then Ruby stopped her from being poofed and Rose escaped.

Where was it stated that Garnet's future vision works differently?

Yeah because Ruby changed the future that Sapphire saw

And thats all of one sapphire as opposed to the millions that exist

@Weekly that demonstrates that the future can be changed, meaning she can't actually see the future, only the most likely outcome. It's basically the only Sapphire we have to compare, as we don't see any others besides Padparadcha (I think that's how you spell it), and she's an Off Color. I'm going to assume it's representative of a typical Sapphire's abilities rather than assuming that the one we see is the worst of the bunch and every other one has perfect future vision.

I've been doing some thinking about Lapis Lazulis, and apparently some of the larger Tyranid ships consume the atmospheres and/or oceans of entire planets, so assuming the world they are fighting on has any water they may be able to just literally eat it.

Something which doesn't seem to have been brought up much in this is morale. The Tyranids are killing machines that do as they are told and don't care what's happening to other Tyranids around then, but Gems tend to have a very human mindset with all of the same emotions, meaning being besieged by a seemingly endless torrent of horrid monsters and abominations is going to take a mental toll, as will any time a Gem is shattered in front of their comrades.

Lapis Lazulis can control any liquid, not just water, and even if the Hive Ships eat it she can still control it, hell that may actually be the worst thing for them as that would allow her to just tear them apart from the inside

Weekly, I really don't care about any pissing contest about who has the most speedy people or whatever the heck. Ships speed blitz, that's very cool, now we still end with a match of wonky speed and speed blitzing all over the place.

@Weekly Unless one of the creators said something I'm not aware of or unless one of the games or comics has it, it hasn't been established that Lapis Lazulis can control liquids inside of creatures. And another thing, if I remember correctly didn't it take Lapis at least several hours to gather up the entire ocean?

Lapis has shown the ability to manipulate orange juice and paint

Yes, it did, casually, while she was severely weakened, suffering from a cracked Gem, mentally unstable from being trapped in a mirror for thousands of years, and for part of that timeframe simultaneously fighting off the Crystal Gems

@Weekly and yet she still hasn't shown the ability to manipulate liquids inside of a creature.

Since we didn't see her actually gathering up all the water we don't know how much effort it took, other then that it took some time. We also don't know how much having a cracked gem affected her liquid manipulation power. She was fighting the Crystal Gems after gathering up the ocean.

Amethyst was physically falling apart when her gem was cracked, as was Eyeball, having a cracked gemstone is a severe physical detriment to any Gem

The exact same precognition of millions of people doesn't make it any the more significant. The ability sees the most possible future outcomes but they cannot actually see what is going to happen exactly. That said it does allow them to prepare to an extent and maybe preplace a few things. Maybe Tomes for sealing. Then again if the stronger Tyranids are sealed they still are reabsorbed and recreated by the Hive Mind so I don't really see what precog does.

Precognition is an ability of Psykers too. I think a Genestealer Magus may be powerful enough to use the ability but they mainly specialise in mind control. I still don't see how any of the Gems resist their mind control which should be on a higher scale of Hive Tyrant who can mind control billions maybe up to trillions in their fleets. So basically one has to raise a hand and the whole of Homeworld is mind haxed.

How exactly...? The Hive Mind doesnt have the ability to manipulate things that have been turned into fiction from what i can see.

They're turned into fiction? Ok nvm.

It doesn't really matter though. If a Swarmlord is taken than a few Tyranids will be sacrificed to recreate it maybe.

@Weekly And Lapis was not falling apart, nor would I call her liquid manipulation a physical ability precisely.

Something else I'm wondering about is that you said that Garnet's future vision works differently than a Sapphire's, if that is the case then wouldn't her resistance to heat also be different? If so, her being able to survive inside the sun may not be applicable to other Gems.

Other than Garnet, Ruby, and Bismuth no other Gems have shown a resistance to heat. No one ever argued that her sun feat was applicable to other Gems.
