What do you even mean by restore himself to a different spot? Also he cant really block without getting broken arms if Yang is in semblance. Although I firmly believe that CD is gonna be quicker on the draw given his invisibility and whole pseudo-flight in range and various other things, he should be faster on any potential crosscounter, ergo he can revert the semblence before she lands her punch.
