Two Static Fighter's Duke it Out

That literally doesn't make any sense as that's the whole point of Durability Negation.

And it wouldn't be effective. the difference is over 4 times, the battle takes place on a large mass of water which is whitebeard's weakness, the FT has transmutation which works on people.

his durability negation hasn't been shown to effect anyone at large 2 sizes.

Transmutation isn't in character, his Large size type 2 doesn't have anything to do with Whitebeard's quakes passing through his body.

The only durability negating quakes are the close quarter ones he's used on akainu. they don't cover enough range to effect it substantially.

and if i'm not mistaken what's stopping it just from staying in the water where Whitebeard is powerless to effect it.

That also isn't in character for Mercphobia as the only time he went underwater was to pull the sea into the sky for his water pillar attacks.

His main style of fighting is to pull a large body of water into the sky and fire pillars of water at his opponents with the occasional Water Breath attack in between. If they get into CQC range he will suck them up into a whirlpool.

well considering whitebeard's weakness to water, the fact they start so far away from each other... there is literally no way whitebeard has a chance in winning this.

if he stays at range he would have weaker projectiles with less range.

if he gets in close he gets pulled into a whirlpool resulting in a ohko and if does get a hit in it's not going to be worth much considering his durability negation after two hits wasn't able to put down akainu completely + there's such a difference in size that the damage dealt won't cover enough to be effective.

Changed the Starting Distance to 100ft and Whirlpool is moot as CQC isn't likely gonna be a factor in this fight and Class T says otherwise.

he needs to be in close range to perform durability negation (i'm fairly confident on this)

what does Class T have to do with this?

WhiteBeard's LS advantage should allow him to stand his ground from being sucked up into a whirlpool.

that wasn't incharacter merc

What is in character for him to do? If he tries to Whirlpool than WB can just grab the air and dissipate the whirlpool with his Devil Fruit. But 37 Petatons vs 8.5 is kind of concerning for Pops. He'll have to rely on durability negation and considering that durability negation is a side effect of using his Devil Fruit point blank, he might be able to squeeze out an edge there.

Edit: if the whirlpool doesn't work he will also attack with his tail and get away.
