Tropes in fiction you love and hate

The fact Adventure Time is ending soon just makes the constant unanswered questions hurt more being honest

This is probably one of the reasons people still say that's Pokémon Gold/Silver are the best Pokémon games Nintendo has ever crafted, considering that final battle with this guy was so amazingly epic and tied so much of those first two generations together in a neat little bow.

@Starter Pack

Yeah, the Red battle is probably one of the most satisfying and iconic scenes in Pokemon games. To bad none of the other protagonists had the same kind of legacy as Red.

Generation 5 also tried with Cynthia coming back too, but it didn't have any real build up which made it feel thrown in at the last second to me.

He did, though. You had to go through all of Kanto and then climb Mount Silver to get to him. Sure, they don't spell it out, but the idea that you have to go through all of that to get to Red is build up itself.

For Cynthia...you just find her in a house randomly (at least, I just found her randomly). It just sort of happens, and it's lame.

As much as I love Cynthia, finding her in that house randomly was terrifying, because well...it's Cynthia, and I knew I had to battle her. I wasn't at full health.

Love: The asshole character that has no morals and nobody likes announces that they're about to do something unforgivable, not realizing that someone way above their weight class is standing right behind them and disapproves of their actions.

e.g. Shinji about to molest Rin in front of A gallant gentleman in tier 7-B

The real cal howard said:
I saw Shinji and molest and thought you were talking about that hospital scene in Evangelion.
Same here, actually.

I watched that movie before the series and it's permanently tainted my image of the anime.
