So, uh, isn't cancer just when your cells start duplicating uncontrollably? Because, if so, Thing gets infected and grows uncontrollably. It'd be nothing but a benefit to The Thing.

If I recall correctly, the Cancer Cell was able to infect other cells as well. So both characters can infect each other.

Thing cells copy DNA, so once Thing assimilates, it'd get Cancer. Creating Cells non-stop wouldn't actually pose it any harm though, in fact, it'd be a benefit. Cue symbiotic relationship as the Cancer Thing grows exponentially and eventually assimilates the world.

So...wouldn't that be good for both?
Actually no. The assimilation process involves the Thing-cell absorbing the Cancer cell completely. And I'm pretty sure cancer is just a malfunction in the cell's genetic instructions causeing uncontrolled cell growth so I'm not sure the Thing would actually get anything outta this.

TLDR: This is a stomp for the Thing. Cancer has not winco

Incon. Neither side has a win con since if Thing absorbs cancer, then cancer still technically lives, and cancer can't kill Thing due to it's, well, Thing-y-ness.

That's actually wrong. The Thing assimilates other cells by devouring them. Cancer cells would no longer exist. Thing stomps. Also Necro.
